Love of history. I am recently retired and now have the time to pursue family history. I feel like I am putting warm flesh on historic bones. These were living, loving people and I am enjoying connecting them in my mind and heart.|

I agree with you, but sadly it is in the rules. You have to it under Frequently Asked Questions. I've covered every cemetery that I can think of, while adding pictures, as I have mass photo'd 21 cemeteries in Bates County now, and have deleted everyone that I had posted (some 300 before I found out I was in the wrong). I have come across some obits that I didn't post, that weren't before 1922, but I did not contact the memorial makers. Let somebody else inform them. I have seen bio info on current deaths that have had the obits listed in verbatim, and if someone was interested in I.D. theft, could get a start with useful info on the survivors, but I have said nothing. I was hurt enough in taking off the ones I had posted - of people that I knew over the years. Bless you for all you do!

I may have a more complete list of who is buried in Melvin Cemetery from a distant cousin of mine. Seems I talked to her and I have had the list for a couple of years. Let me know if you would like a copy of what I was given to compare to your list.
Thanks for transferring my family to me.

Thank you for the transfer of my family linages to me. I too, have a love of family and history of our people. I have been fortunate to have photos of these ancestors as our tree was greatly intermarried and kept in touch during the 1800's. I am keeper of letters going back to 1856 and photos older than those. This is why it is so important for me to let my ancestors know they have not been forgotten and their lives meant something in our history of the world. One day I will be an ancestor visiting with all of them and most times I feel like I already know them.

Hi Donnis, I want to thank you for stating, the best I've ever seen, what is in my heart: "I feel like I am putting warm flesh on historic bones. These were living, loving people and I am enjoying connecting them in my mind and heart." I wish I had thought to say that! It is a perfect beautiful description of what we are doing in genealogy.

I was named after an aunt named Lola and one named Veneta--your relative is the closest that I have found to the same spelling--the correct pronunciation is low neta--but I answer to La neta and other variations--does your sister have a story about how her name came to be?? (As a kid I always wanted to be named Betty after a favorite aunt, but now appreciate the unusual name.) Loneta
|Loneta Boyer||Thank you|
Thank you for taking the photos and posting them for Brunetta and Nimrod sharp's graves. So many of the relatives that I have looked for are in unmarked graves, I am always happy to see that they do have memorials marking their final resting place. Thanks again, Loneta Boyer
Genevieve is my cousin. Would you mind if I copied the picture of her headstone to use with my ancestry tree?
|Leon Barton||Mary Snavely|
Since Mary Snavely is family, I have trnsferred her memorial to you. Have A Happy New Year!
|Shirley Hause||Herbert Snavely|
I added the info on Herbert
