I have been working on genealogy for about 25 years. I just found out about Find A Grave a few months ago. What a handy tool this is. I enjoy going around to different cemeteries looking at all the old headstones, and taking pictures for people who might not every see the headstonesof there ancestors if someone didn't take pictures for them.|
If anyone finds an error, please let me know and I will correct it. Also anyone who would like to add something, I can also do that for you.
For over 15 years I have been seriously researching my Gibbons family, with a beginning origin in South Carolina (Joseph Franklin Gibbons 1839 and still searching for information prior to that), also researching the Paris family (Rhoda Catherine Paris) from Spartanburg, South Carolina and the Giles families from that area.
From there the search has taken me into Harlan and Bell Counties in Kentucky, and surrounding counties in VA & TN, later on to Rockcastle and Lincoln Counties in KY also. In KY families that connect with our Gibbons are: Fee's, Green, Burkhart, Hensley, Wynn, Wilson and more.
My grandfather Andrew Jackson Gibbons was born in SC, was raised and married Margaret Fee in Harlan County KY. They raised their family in Lee Co. VA. Andrew Jackson Gibbons brothers are, James Giles, John Giles, Spurgeon Gibbons, Willie Gibbons, Campbell Gibbons, Frank Gibbons II and Nathan Gibbons. No known sisters.
If anyone has information of any of these families I would be very appreciative of anything you are willing to share.
I am also working on a register for Rose Hill Cemetery in Robinson, Kansas.

On May 7th you uploaded a picture to Richard Schneider's (# 162018628 ) memorial page. Our family has yet to decide what photographs will be added. Since only a limited number of pictures can be placed on a memorial page I would like them to have 1st choice. I respectfully request that you remove the added photograph. Thank you for your understanding. ~rp

|Charles Walker||Mt Zion Cemetery|
I just looked at your post.It was a lady named Watkins and I looked at the real MT. Zion Cem. on here in Clinton Co. and there is about 20 different people listed there with the Watkins name.Probably relatives of the lady you posted.I wasnt trying to be critical of the couple just critical of them for turning off messages,as that way you cant correct mistakes.Anyway I wont bother you anymore.Just trying to help.Have a great day.Charles Walker
|Charles Walker||Mt Zion Cemetery|
I saw you posted a guy Watkins who I think died in Stewartsville,Mo. and was buried in Mt. Zion Cemetery.You posted it in the wrong place,as there is no Mt. Zion Cemetery in Dekalb County.Mt Zion is just south of Stewartsville in Clinton County.Some couple Lyle and Marsha has posted a relative of mine Anthony Pike who is buried in Mt. Zion as well,but anyway this couple created a Mt. Zion Cem in Dekalb County and put my relative in this imaginary cemetery,My relative already has a listing in the real Mt. Zion Cem.-The same cemetery that your post should be in.Just trying to help and get info right.This couple-lyle and Marsha have turned off their messages so you cant email them w/ corrections.They got my relatives info off his death certificate.He died in Stewartsville-Dekalb Co.-but the Clinton/Dekalb County line runs thru the south edge of Stewartsville and Mt. Zion is 5 to 6 miles south of town in Clinton Co. and in what used to be the town of Starfield,Mo.-The couple has probably did this stuff before and that is why they turned messages off.Like I said it doesn`t matter to me other then people posting wrong info online is why you cant trust info online(not meaning you did it-looks like yours was a honest mistake following that couple) Anyway just trying to help.Have a good one.Charles Walker
|Beth Thompson||Margaret Jean McBain|
I think there is an error on Margaret Jean (Martin) McBain, memorial #160121021. She is listed as the spouse of Christa (Corrigan) McAuliffe, memorial #1601. Please check.
I tried to put this in the edit area for additions and corrections, but it would not let me check the I Am Not A Robot box. I finally gave up and now am posting it here.
