My maiden name is Lauer. I grew up on a farm at Flush Kansas. I've been interested in genealogy for years. I try to link as many family members as possible, parent's, spouse's and children. Some of my family were the first settlers at Flush KS coming from Luxembourg, Germany, & France. |
I want my memorials to be correct, so please let me know if you find an error!

|searcher||Deaath of Barbara Bever|
I saw the message you left on G. Bever's site asking about the death of Barbara Bever, wife of Jonas Bever. In the application for Civil War pension that he made (based on the service of his son) he notes that his wife Barbara died 13 August 1873 in Pulaski County, Indiana while they were living there. In the file he notes that he lived 1862-1873 in Watseka, Iroquois County, Illinois; in 1873 in Pulaski County, Indiana; 1873-1880 in Warren County, Indiana; 1880-1887 in Woodson County, Kansas; and 1887-1889 in Cowley County, Kansas.
I have never seen any information on where Barbara was buried in Indiana. Let me know if you find anything. My line comes from Jonas to Absalom to Alonzo to John Charles Bever.

You're very welcome Brenda! If there's anything else I can do, don't hesitate to ask.

The copy of the book at the Kansas Historical Society Library at the Museum goes thru 2010. On page 32 it lists
Barbara Lintz 1833 - 1891, Louis Lintz 1865 - 1870, Joseph Lintz 1873 - 1875 and Lena Lintz 1875 - 1877.
Barbara Schmitt the daughter of Philip Schmitt from Kniersheim, Alsace was married to Louis Lintz. To this union were born Michael,Lucy, Katherine and Rose ( Mrs. Frank Eckart ). Lucy never married and is buried here with her mother, having died in 1895. Louis Lintz is buried in Scipio, Kansas. Also buried with their mothe are Louis, Joseph and Lena Lintz.
Louis Lintz 1835 - 1913 in Scipio, KS
find-agrave # 113576136
Pages 209 - 211 have the obituaries of the Lintz
in St. Joseph Cemetary.
Happy Hunting GLC

The reply I tried to send from my e-mail came back unsent. So I'll try to reply here. On the information that I have, I list Louis Lintz as buried at St. Joseph's Catholic Cemetery in Flush, as is Barbara. I see that he is not there on the Find-A-Grave site. It was several years ago that I visited the cemetery at Flush. ( Way before I found the Find-A-Grave site. ) Without a revisit to the cemetary, I don't know why I listed him at Flush. There is a book that lists the burials at St. Joseph's, and has obituaries - I beleive that the library at the history museum in Topeka has a copy.
Sorry I'm not more helpful, GLC

Did I ever answer this question? JIC: Sorry but we don't know the details of his death.
Grace is next to Fred. In the original photo, there was only a smaller plaque for Fred, and 2 bolts to the right for a future plaque for Grace. The old, smaller plaque for Fred has been replaced with a newer, longer plaque for both Fred and Grace.

I couldn't find an obit for Grace, but I did find one for Fred, and I have it on the memorial. Grace does have a memorial at the same cemetery where Fred is buried (I have linked her to Fred). I'll drive there and confirm that the grave is there, but it may take several weeks.
