I am 46 years old and have 3 children. Family history has always interested me. Find A Grave is a great way to help others learn more about their own family's past.|
Your tombstone stands among the rest;
neglected and alone
The name and date are chiseled out
on polished, marbled stone
It reaches out to all who care
It is too late to mourn
You did not know that I'd exist
You died and I was born.
Yet each of us are cells of you
in flesh, in blood, in bone.
Our blood contracts and beats a pulse
entirely not our own.
Dear Ancestor, the place you filled
one hundred years ago
Spreads out among the ones you left
who would have loved you so.
I wonder if you lived and loved,
I wonder if you knew
That someday I would find this spot,
and come to visit you.

Thanks so much again Judy for great photos! I'm so glad our NY weather is finally improving so we can get back out into the cemetery! Have a great day!

Thanks for the photos & memorials for my 4 Gagliardi ancestors in Holy Sep. I cdn't find Nunzio and Filomina either, but thought maybe they were under American names in the records? I might have assumed wrong that they went to Holy Sep. Thx for checking it out! Ur the best :)

|Patricia Mayer||O'Brien headstone photo|
Thanks so very much for the photo of the headstone that I just received. It adds another piece to my genealogy research, and one that I couldn't have obtained on my own.
I am still searching for the stones of nine or so other relatives buried at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery and am hoping that you will be able to obtain those photos for me, also.
Your work is appreciated!

Judy I really appreciate what you did I have another group I have requested also either in Sep or Holy Ghost do you go there too?
|Scott McPherson||RE: Margaret and Ellen Leahy at Holy Sep|
I didn't take too long to find the obit for William Leahy. It reads as follows;
William Leahy died Thursday night at his home, No 65 Kent street. He leaves a brother, Martin Leahy of Peterborough, Ont., and one sister, Ellen Leahy of Rochester.
It was published on Saturday, 27 May 1905 in the Rochester Democrat and Chronicle.
With that little piece of information that he had a brother Martin, living in Peterborough, Ontario, where by the way both Margaret and Ellen Leahy were born, it was easy to determine that William Leahy (d 1905) was the cousin of Margaret and Ellen. All these families used the same given names over and over.
I have a copy of the original obituary that I can send you if you would like it. You can update the memorial with the obit, or if you prefer, you can transfer the memorial to me as William will eventually get added to my tree.
Thanks for all your help.
When you found the burial location for Margaret, was her sister Ellen also buried there? Did you get a burial location I can add to Margaret's Find A Grave memorial?
