Bio and Links
Bio Photo I will be happy to add additional information or make corrections to memorials I maintain. Please use the Edit tab on the memorial to send your info to me and I will update. I transfer all memorials within the four-generation rule. I do not link to "burial unknown" listings.

My added vs. managed memorials difference is quite large because I manage many memorials transferred to me from a now inactive member. I work on these daily to update with info and add photos.

Please do not copy my photos to other websites (including Ancestry) without my permission.

Stout Cemetery
Hi BjJ,
I see that you have some memorials at Stout Cemetery and that Stout has been 95% photographed. I'm curious as to whether or not you might have access to records at Stout Cemetery. I'm trying to trace Luther Paul Smith, an infant son of Joseph Luther Smith and his wife Emma. I have found several articles from the Daily Illinois State Journal for May 24, 25, and 26 of 1905 stating that the child was buried at Stout Cemetery. In the articles the father's initials are mixed up as CL and JS Smith, but I think this is the correct family.

RE: Alice Galant
I do not have a complete obituary for her husband, Alexander Galant, only death notice, which mentions his daughter, Mrs. Pauline Ewing, can you send me a copy of his obit. As you probably already know, she had a daughter Stella, who marries Blake Rawles, maybe her middle name is Bacquet, for Stella Bacquet Galant?

I also have her obituary, and I was at first confused by the name Desboney, however, I spoke with Eugene Galant/Gallant's son who didn't recognize the name Desboney, so I did some more checking and came up with Alice Elizabeth Galant's Illinois death record on Ancestry, which indicates her maiden name as Bacquet. I also spoke with Stella Galant Rawles granddaughter, and Eugene's son, both of who verified the maiden name as Bacquet. Eugene's son also sent me a picture of the Galant Family in Pennsylvania, which also indicates Alice (Bacquet).

So yes, I am sure her maiden name was Bacquet, and her death record also indicates her father as Joseph Bacquet.

John and Elizabeth Fay
Thank you for the suggestions. I've updated John Fay's bio. Regarding Elizabeth, I, too, found those articles. They are my 2x great grandparents. I was sickened.
Thank you.

I am so sorry for the inconvenience! I have no idea how I sent IL instead of AR. I had it right in my mind. Thanks for being so kind about it!

You are absolutely right. I, too, have she was born in Black Rock, AR, but it is located in Lawrence Co., AR. For some reason, the Find A Grave system does not have Black Rock as an option, so I couldn't indicate Black Rock. Perhaps Black Rock is a very small community. Thanks for much for checking further!
