Bio and Links
Bio Photo I am a retired high school history teacher, having taught in the public schools of St. Mary's County, Maryland. I am a native of Huntington, Suffolk County, New York.

I have been interested in visiting old cemeteries since I was a child, when cemetery visiting was a family activity.

I began a project during the American Revolution Bicentennial to update the cemetery lists held by the St. Mary's County Historical Society, Leonardtown, MD. This project, using high school students, extended into the early 1980s. Some cemetery lists were published in the "Maryland-Delaware Genealogist."

I worked with the GenExchange Project adding cemetery data from both Long Island, New York, and Calvert and St. Mary's counties in Southern Maryland. I have also worked with the longislandgenealogy.com site.

I am editor of the "Generator," the quarterly publication of the St. Mary's County Genealogical Society and am also 2nd Vice President of that organization.

Currently, I'm a member of the Sgt. James H. Harris Camp #38, Sons of Union Veterans of the Civil War. We are now in a project to identify & mark graves of the unknown Union soldiers in St. Mary's & Calvert counties.

William Henry Wade transfer
David, Thanks for the transfer. I didn't get back to you because my computer got a virus. It took this long to get it cleaned, change passwords etc. Now I'm back in business. Best Regards, Dona

James Richley
Hi Dave the listing for James Richley should be for James Richley Young, the DOB and Date of death are the same. The listing was probably made in error and not finished on the church records. Thanks Jeff

Oops
Read your bio and find you aren't far from Brooklyn, NY and have been suffering through this cold weather, too. But yesterday someone said spring is on its way.

RE: Smith - Landing Cemetery
No worries. It doesn't look as if you live in a cold climate that keeps you indoors with time on your hands. Thanks for doing. Elizabeth

RE: Cullison - St. Michael's
Great Thanks If I find anyone else I'll let you know. It's good to see people trying to keep up with this. It can get overwhelming at times.
