Bio

I am 76 years old and retired for 15+ years. I started working on photographing the grave markers of my family members, mostly in the Beechwoods Cemetery, Beechwoods, Pennsylvania. I live in Dayton Ohio, but have a camp just south of DuBois, PA. My niece Carol Laughlin and I have managed to photograph every grave marker in this cemetery as of the spring of 2007.

Since then, I have moved on to do several other smaller cemeteries located closer to my cabin. They would be Wood, Greenville & Chestnut Grove Cemeteries. I have now completed all three of these as of October 2007. I have also finished another (June 2008) named St Bonaventure located near Irishtown, Clearfield Co., PA.

On a recent trip to Alaska, I took photos of the first cemetery that I saw, it was in Seward, Alaska. I now have those listed on Findagrave. I was not able to take all of them, but managed 32. Also in the winter of 2012, I photographed all of the markers in a cemetery in Rayville, Louisiana while there on a hunting trip.

October 2013 update: I have just finished taking photos at St Catherines Cemetery in DuBois, PA & the Medway Cemetery in Ohio, Between those two, I have taken nearly 7000 photos. I have acquired the records for St Catherines in DuBois and for the past month I have been adding memorials. There were 318 when I started, and the records indicate over 3100 burials. Medway contains over 4,000 burials. It will be a while before I get all the memorials uploaded, then I will start editing the photos. I should have them done by spring of 2014.

I have finished Dille Cemetery, Ohio: Mt Pleasant Cemetery, Penfield, PA (Added cemetery and 116 memorials): Soldier Hill & Holy Trinity, Sykesville, PA: Conway Cemetery(9 new memorials) and Bundy in Sabula, PA; (Added 49 new names and markers in Bundy)

Time marches on, I just finished uploading about 4000 photos to the Medway, OH Cemetery. (Jan. 2014) and I am now editing another 3800 for St Catherines in DuBois, PA. I gained access to the cemetery records and was able to add apx. 3300 new memorials. Photos will follow in due course. Happy to report that St Catherines photos are all uploaded.

Also of note, while in PA recently, I photographed about 600 markers at Taylor Cemetery in Falls Creek, and another 1000+ at St Josephs in DuBois. took the time to photograph St. Michaels in DuBois also another 1100 or so.

Took a good long look at the Enon, Ohio cemetery this afternoon, must be at least 4000 markers in there, really a big place. On my to do list for the future.

In August 2014 I took about 400 photos at McClure Cemetery outside Curwensville, PA. Uploading photos and new memorials right now.

I have also photographed the Lumber City Cemetery, but someone else beat me to upload photos. I may still add mine as needed for clarity. During the same trip, I photographed all the markers in Friends Cemetery near Grampian, PA. I will eventually get those uploaded also.

On a recent trip to England, I came across a small cemetery in the city of Oxford. I was able to take several photos from outside the locked fence. From those photos, I added two new memorials to St. Mary Magdalene Churchyard cemetery and updated four others.

You may use any photos I have posted as you need, especially for family records.
