I haven't been adding too much lately but the photographing done by Ryan in Crystal Lake Cemetery in Gardner continues. I am fixing things as he and others find corrections for my memorials.
My Gardner database keeps growing and it's up to nearly 91,000 people. The currently uploaded file on ancestry.com has 76,000 people. I am adding in data from the surrounding towns. I finished Westminster and Ashburnham and am currently working on Winchendon.
If you do not wish to have a memorial online for your relative then let me know and I will delete it.
I have not cleaned the stones so you might come across a photo of one of your relative's stones and think, "what a mess". If you would like a better picture posted then I can go out and retake it no problem and do a little clearing away of dirt and weeds to boot. I just figured I could get all the photos done in a more timely manner and then make a better effort on the ones people actually are interested in seeing.
I have determined the genealogy of most of the original settlers (see my website below). Some are stubbornly evasive. Most of these people are buried in the Old Burial Ground while a few are in Green Bower and Crystal Lake Cemeteries. I have also traced the lineages of their progeny as far as the early 1900s and sometimes further.
I am not originally from this town and so I would be glad to transfer the memorials if you want them. As always, feel free to download any photo I've taken and I'd be glad to do some searching in my area if you can't do it yourself.
'Nuff said. Ed

Great job! Yes, I love the new edit system. The best thing is when the contributor is inactive I feel like I can send them a 1000 edits and they won't care.
I'm glad you are still looking out for Gardner.
Have a good one.

Thanks. I certainly appreciate all the Find A Grave accounts you have made. Recently I have been finding many for my Kendall ancestors and adding info or photos if I have them and occasionally tying some of them together. It's fun to have days when I feel like I am making progress.

Regarding the corrections you sent, it appears that Horace Knapp has headstones at both Fitchburg and Gardner. I uploaded an image to the Forest Hill memorials. Do you have any sources that show which location would be correct?
|Diane Gravlee||RE: Cornish marker in Green Bower Cem|
Thanks, Ed, for your willingness to do the deletions.

Ed, I was able to get a better photo of that Cornish marker in Green Bower Cemetery...that kind of stone is very reflective and hard to photograph, so I am not being critical of your photo. If you would like to remove your photo of that marker it will leave more room for a portrait or family photo. It is posted to all the Cornish memorials listed on the marker. Just a thought. Diane, related to them through my daughter-in-law.

No worries - thanks for the other tidbits.

I have a problem with your correction. On her headstone it says that she is the wife of Jonas Richardson. Is there a different Jonas Richardson she should be linked to? I just photographed the stone and did the best I could with respect to family, tell me what Jonas Richardson she should be linked to.

No problem....just thought you had some info I hadn't found.

Thanks for all the additional info and links. I did however decline the one to remove Nathaniel Foster as her spouse. I had found the record of marriage and her stone states she was his wife. Maybe you can let me know why you feel he should be removed and I'll check it out. Thanks!
