Hi People,

I haven't been adding too much lately but the photographing done by Ryan in Crystal Lake Cemetery in Gardner continues. He's finding my errors and I'm continuously correcting them although most tend to be more along the lines of the stone giving more information like a full date or someone's title. Good to see I haven't screwed up too badly. My Gardner database keeps growing and it's up to nearly 76,000 people. The currently uploaded file is a paltry 71,000 people. I just finished going through the 1900 census so I'll upload the new file to soon and backtrack a bit to review the 1880 census. I am correcting and refining the various trees all of the time as I come across new information.

If you do not wish to have a memorial online for your relative then let me know and I will delete it.

I have not cleaned the stones so you might come across a photo of one of your relative's stones and think, "what a mess". If you would like a better picture posted then I can go out and retake it no problem and do a little clearing away of dirt and weeds to boot. I just figured I could get all the photos done in a more timely manner and then make a better effort on the ones people actually are interested in seeing.

I have determined the genealogy of most of the original settlers (see my website below). Some are stubbornly evasive. Most of these people are buried in the Old Burial Ground while a few are in Green Bower and Crystal Lake Cemeteries. I have also traced the lineages of their progeny as far as the early 1900s and sometimes further.

I am not originally from this town and so I would be glad to transfer the memorials if you want them. As always, feel free to download any photo I've taken and I'd be glad to do some searching in my area if you can't do it yourself.

'Nuff said. Ed

I'm never sure on those tragic stories either. They are really case by case, aren't they. We are in agreement on this one. Thanks, again.

RE: Mary (Cobleigh) Newton
Sorry about my previous message, I didn't have my thinking cap on yet. The Mary listed on the Gardner Cemetery Commission website died 1875, as I mentioned, so couldn't have been Mary C. Newton who died in 1892. So you may be right: Mary C may not be buried there. Perhaps I should write to the Commission and ask for clarification?

RE: Mary (Cobleigh) Newton
Thanks for getting back with me.
The listing of graves at Greenbower on the Gardner City website indicate she was buried in 1875, so I think we're safe in saying she's is there.
Thanks for doing the fix on her memorial page and on her mother's. Have a great fall.

Mary (Cobleigh) Newton
Do you know where Mary is buried? She died in Brookline NH acccording to the death record I found for her. Also Mary's mother's name is Nancy Coleman, not Colman. Thanks for your help.

I am very interested in information regarding the memorial posted for Jeremiah Meacham.

Find A Grave Memorial# 75847641

Do you know if/where an actual memorial may exist in Essex County, Massachusetts? I see the memorial has very specific date/place information. I am working to verify. If you have any information, please contact me:

Thanks so much,
Mary Mecham

RE: Signe Erickson (83384863)
I just want to thank you for all the work you've done in Gardner. My mom's whole side of the family is from that area. A bunch of Gardner Swedes! Your work has made my research so much easier.

(I'm the granddaughter of Elof Teir and Dagny Nyman and the descendant of Jacobson and Sjuls...)

Thanks again!

Perhaps you would like to add Birth: 19 April 1757 at Holden, Worcester co, MA and Death 12 April 1844 Holden, Worcester co, MA

I am not directly related, though my great aunt married into the Flagg family.

Immigrant Thomas Flagg
I have just discovered that there are two postings on Yours at 50872850 with updated info regarding baptism and family and that posted by Star Rhodes at 57960009. Both contain valuable information about this immigrant ancestor and I would like to suggest a merger of the two. I have also posted a message for Star.

I've done the same thing. I mean you how many Enda's can be born in Mass. on the same exact day, lmao.

Been there.
