Find-a-Grave rocks! |
Let me know if you need a transfer if you can add more bio info. Hope everyone gets out there and photographs some stones - that is the main reason this site exists. Thanks.
Just went back to my original project of Warwick Cemetery, Warwick Massachusetts (which I started in 2001) to photograph some more stones. Snapped about 400 or so. About another 500 people to find there and it should be complete. I would like to find my worst photos and re-shoot them as well.
Still looking to get to Crystal Lake and finish the little I have left before snow flies.
A couple of items I find cool:
Found this inscribed on a stone in Warwick, Ma.:
"Low in the ground my bed is made,
here in the dark alone I'm laid.
Depart my friends and let me rest,
I'm weary of this wilderness."
Found this on a find-a-grave profile:
Old Bones' profile poem"
Your tombstone stands among the rest;
Neglected and alone.
The name and date are chiseled out
On polished, marbled stone.
It reaches out to all who care
It is too late to mourn.
You did not know that I exist
You died and I was born.
Yet each of us are cells of you
In flesh, in blood, in bone.
Our blood contracts and beats a pulse
Entirely not our own.
Dear Ancestor, the place you filled
One hundred years ago
Spreads out among the ones you left
Who would have loved you so.
I wonder if you lived and loved,
I wonder if you knew
That someday I would find this spot,
And come to visit you.

Thanks for the heads up on the Rixford/Warwick burials of the Stevens. I don't recognize the tree, but the background definitely looks like Warwick instead of Rixford. I took pictures in both on the same day and must have gotten those 4 in the wrong place. They have been deleted from Rixford.

What is your source showing that Ebenezer was married to Anna Hemenway? Her memorial has an implausible connection to a child who was born when she was 64, so I am skeptical about other information as well. Did you find birth and marriage information on Ancestry.com?
HI thank you fir the Nadeau information :-)

Thank you! I was unaware of it and it's good to know and correct it for my cousin. =) Cheers!

Thank you so much.

Hi Ryan, I don't need a transfer, but wondered if I could use your photograph of the gravestone in Templeton Common Burial Ground for Gardner Richardson who d. 9 Jan. 1827. I think we have a dyslexic stone carver. I'd love to add that to my collection of unusual stones.
Many thanks, Marilyn Day

Grave is marked. See photo I attached to your listing. Athol Birth Records lists her name as Lydia Mary born 2 Dec. 1910.

Would you please transfer Raymond Ashton, my uncle to me? He is buried with my parents, Rev and Mrs. Ashton at Crystal Lake Cemetery. Thanking you in advance. Sandy
