In the late 1980's I began talking with my grandmother about her childhood and members of our family in NC. It was fascinating for me. She went through very old family photos and told me who each person was and how they were related. In 1990, I consolidated all the information and research that I had obtained into a handmade "book" for my grandmother. Over the past 25+ years I have continued to update that book which led me to Find A Grave.|
As a psychologist, I find our family histories very interesting. This site has proved invaluable. I enjoy visiting and recording cemetery information (even when it doesn't relate to my own extended family). Thank you to everyone who participates on this site.

Thanks for the help. It's always appreciated when we work together.

You're Grannypix!! I think I've already tried to contact you on Ancestry, but I'm not certain. I am familiar with your id - we keep crossing paths. I am SO excited! My Ancestry id is "youarewelcome" (when I first joined it was "My Family" and came with an email account. Thought I was clever by having an email address: "You are welcome @ my family.com" - "My Family" disappeared and Ancestry took over so now everyone thinks I'm just grateful (which, of course, I usually am). ha ha
You can send an invitation to your tree to my email address here: firstname.lastname@example.org

I've heard from John Ladd, who is also 2nd great grandson - you are cousins! Do you know him? He's attached your photo of the tombstone to his tree and tells me it looks like a new stone as "my dad did not mention it when they visited it in 1979".
Your photo was taken in 2009 and the one on Camilla's memorial was taken by Nanalee Wrenn in 2006 when she created both memorials.
Do you know who erected the stone and when?

I've transferred them to you and would love any other pictures you care to share! You could send me a link to your tree on Ancestry and I could get them that way?

I have memorials for your great great grandparents: Ephram Perry Casey and Camilla Ann Coon Casey (Center UMC Cemetery in Davie Co.)
There is a tree on Ancestry by jmladd402 that has a portrait of them as a couple. I haven't been able to contact jmladd402 to learn more about the photo. Since they are the originator of the photo on Ancestry, it is assumed it belongs to them.
Are you jmladd402? Or, if not, do you think you could identify your gr-gr grandparents from a photo?
I have Civil War records for E.P. Casey, who enlisted 16 Jul 1862, Mocksville, Davie Co. - Co. H, 5th NC Cavalry State Troops - He was captured in July of 1863 at Hagerstown, Md. There's another Ephram (older) being confused with this one.
May I transfer these memorials to you? I'm a researcher, not a relative.

Sorry for the delayed response.
Please feel free to use this photo for any genealogical purpose you see fit.
Glad to be of assistance :)

Most definitely. Most don't ask permission.
Good luck on your ancestry searches.

Hold that thought, Karen. I am getting a bit confused, with so many Theall's. Do you live near Watertown, Massachusetts? That's where my immigrant Ancestor, Nicholas Theale was first found with inventory, just an fyi.
Also, which one of my 3 memorials did you look for? I will email you the death record.
Thanks for helping me remember, lol.
And Thank you for your efforts.

HI Karen, I would very much appreciate your help with info on the Davis family and connections. I use ancestry.com when I have time to go to the library. Thanks Bobbie.

Hello Karen, thank you for searching for my Theall's. it's funny, the death record reads he is buried in the cemetery listed. maybe he has no stone.
But thank you so much for all of your effort and research for me. You can un-claim them and I will take down the photo request.
thanks so much,
