RE: You have the info correct
Which Lamb were you referring to in Highland Cemetery? Just curious.

There's a book I once found in the Phillipston Free Library on The Common that was called "A Leg of Lamb" by Kathryn Lamb Brassington that had lot of local Lamb genealogy. I don't know if its still there

RE: You have the info correct
Lol. I've been doing my tree since I was 12. I am 39 now. And my family never moved so all the resources are very close to home for me to check out.

I just double checked every Lamb in Phillipston on Find-a-Grave and they are all cousins - every last one of them. They are I'd say 70% descendants of Samuel and Sarah (Atwood) lamb and 30% descendants of Barzillai and Sarah (Knowlton) Lamb through his son Israel. Samuel and Sarah had a few children that stayed in Phillipston and had families.

Barzillai and Samuel are brothers - sons of Samuel and Hester (Joslin) Lamb of the Framingham, MA area.

How are you related?

The first Lamb in my tree is my 3rd Great-grandmother Abbie Loretta (Lamb) Ward wife of Freeman Thompson Ward of Phillipston. Abbie's dad was William Jackson Lamb. William was the son of Benjamin Haven Lamb son of John Lamb son of Samuel and Sarah (Atwood) Lamb.

I have 7 generations of family buried in Phillipston. Love that little town and that's why I went there to photograph. The Ward family is big as well. They are descendants of Gen. Artemas Ward of the Revolutionary War from Shrewsbury, MA.

RE: You have the info correct
The two Joshua Lamb's are 1st cousins twice removed.

Joshua d. 1830 son of Samuel and Sarah Atwood Lamb. Samuel is the son of Samuel and Hester Joslin.

Joshua d. 1863 son of Abel and Lydia Bates Lamb. Abel is the son of Israel and Lucy Wheeler Lamb. Israel is the son of Barzillai and Sarah Knowlton Lamb. Barzillaii is the son of the same grandparents as the other Joshua d. 1830: Samuel and Hester Joslin.

Thanks Michelle.

I was unaware of the debate on poor Joshua's memorial. While investigating what you mentioned I noticed a few memorials created by TrueYankee in Phillipston that I am trying to have him delete because they are duplicates and also in the wrong cemetery for some Lambs.

Mann, Horace
Horace Mann is buried in Section 10, lot 219. I added the others on his stone to Find A Grave. Let me know if you would like any of them transferred to you. Sue
