Bio Photo Please note that I am not checking on here much any more so it may take some time (possibly months) before I read your message and make any necessary response. And please try to remember that text does not carry tone and is easily open to misinterpretation.

I love the mission of FindAGrave and have worked hard over the years to take photos of area gravestones and to add bios for people I have researched and (if I can find information on them) for people whose local gravestones I happen to photograph. Over the last couple of years a lot of my research & photos have been reposted on other websites without credit or permission (usually without even crediting FindAGrave itself) and the number of angry-sounding messages I have received has increased, so I've chosen to move the primary focus of my volunteer efforts elsewhere. The bios for people I have researched in my own tree are often a compilation of hundreds of hours of my research and it has been disheartening to see them copied-&-pasted elsewhere with the claim that they are, for example, "obituaries" rather than from FindAGrave. I continue to really appreciate all the work that many people have done to try to make this a high-quality site.

I have added memorials both for people I am researching and for people whose gravestones I've photographed that turn out to not already have a memorial. I am interested in as much of the full story as possible of the people I am researching, and have tried to find & add at least a little information on the local non-relatives whose memorials I added, though sometimes I was unable to find any additional details for the latter on my own.

I slowly worked for some years on photographing every extant stone at the Old Burying Ground in Arlington (formerly Menotomy and West Cambridge), Massachusetts. Please note that most of the no-photo memorials that others have added to this cemetery at FindAGrave are from the transcribed vital records to 1850, which means that the stone was extant when the book was compiled. There are a number of broken, missing, and severely sunken stones there, and I have unfortunately searched the entire cemetery in vain for some requests. Please also note that in those books, if a person is listed under "Deaths" but the source is listed as "G.R.," the source is a gravestone, and thus the person may or may not have actually died in the town where they are buried, though memorial-makers sometimes list it as the town of death without having additional records stating it really is the town of death.

I keep copies of the photographs I post here and the originals of the early photographs I added here are often of a higher quality than what FindAGrave allowed users to post at that time, so if you want me to email you a better copy of something I've posted (if I have one), please just ask me.

Corrections to one of my virtual cemeteries' entries follow. (I have written repeatedly asking for these things to be corrected without any response at all.)

Breese/Brees memorials: Sylvester Fletcher Brees(e) did NOT die at Gettysburg; he hadn't even enlisted yet at the time of the battle. He died at City Point, Virginia, of disease. Also, Artelin(e) and Pearl Brees(e) are NOT Elizabeth (nee unknown) (1st married name Daugherty/Dougherty) Brees(e)'s biological daughters, but rather her stepdaughters. Elizabeth's husband Corydon Brees(e) was first married to Ann (nee Tanner) Brees(e), who died while the family was living in Kansas.

I'm hoping that you will be able to help me. I am traveling to the Boston area in 2 weeks and will be going to the Old Burial Ground hoping to visit the grave of Benjamin Dana, my 7th Great Grandfather. You posted wonderful images that I believe will help me locate it, but I fear that everything will look alike when I get there. Can you give me any tips about locating it at the Old Burial Ground?

Thanks so much for posting the Dana headstones and any information that you can provide.

RE: oops
I took it straight from your photo posted in 2013 :) there is a notation that you posted the day you took it and it's location...
if you click on "see all photos" you'll see that 3 headstone photos are posted for him at "Granary" in Boston ... 2 are yours ( a duplicate originated... happens to me quite often;) and one from "Carol".

I have never written a request like this one before, but I spent some time researching him and found a wonderful 3 page overview of his life... long story short, there are 2 photos ( 2 were generated at the same time) that are duplicates you took of his headstone... would you mind removing one of them so I can add the 3rd page?
In Appreciation,

RE: Re: Olive Blood

I don't know why you have your nose bent out of shape. I was not being critical. I was simply pointing out a note that was not accurate in light of new information. Don't come back at me for taking it the wrong way.
