I have been doing genealogy and family history since I was about 22 years old. I now live in Wilson County, Kansas where I do not have any personal family links, so I do voluteer lookups at our local library and cemeteries.
My philosophy is that memorials should be in the hands of those who loved and knew the individuals. Why would I want to hang on to "ownership" of a memorial of someone's loved one who could contribute so much more to their lives? Just please make transfer requests through the memorial's "Edit" tab. Please let me know your relationship to the person if you would. I would want you to have some kind of personal knowledge of that person. And of course if it is my relative too, I would probably be more of a stickler for the "official" guidelines.
I truly hope some of my work helps others locating their loved ones. I have had SO MANY people on here help me. I can never express my fullest gratitude. | |
