I live in Louisville, KY. My wife and I have been doing genealogy for 16 years and our endeavors have taken us back to my roots in Oberotterbach, Germany. I have lots of records of the Dahl family and associated families as well as photos of Dahl graves in Germany and Louisville. I will start posting them as soon as I can dig them from my archives.|

Hi, I am just wondering if you are related to Sophie Luise Dahl m John Bohn.
I am really stuck on finding anything. I think Sophie's mom was Katherina Ruck. I think Katherina's mom was Maria Collhund (2nd marriage??). Anyway, if you have any information I would appreciate any help. I did call Cave Hill Cemetery and they gave me burial dates on Jacob and Katherina, but thats about all I have!!

Thank you for providing the photos of my great-grandparents grave marker. I have just begun working on a project as a gift for my father and this is much needed information.

You have more there than Ed Porter Thompson has in the "History of the Orphan Brigade". He shows Alexander as having enlisted from Greene County, Ky.
If you'd like to get a copy of his records, go to:
Here is the info you will need on him:

Soldier's Rank_Out Private
