I am Kerry Elkins. I live in Oregon with my wife Joyce. I'm retired. I have been busy working on the family trees of my side (Elkins, Monroe, Stansbury, Patchin, Usher, Satterwhite, Hallum and Woody) I grew up in Neodesha, KS, and have many relatives there. |
The ideal person to transfer one of the many memorials I have made for the Neodesha area would fit along the lines set forth by FindAGrave, I am more than happy to transfer any of these memorials that are not part of my family to anyone that promises to care for them. Cousins, aunts, and close friends please apply.
STRANGERS IN A BOX
Come, look with me inside this drawer
In this box I've often seen,
At the pictures, black and white
faces proud, still, serene.
I wish I knew the people
These strangers in the box,
Their names and all their memories
are lost among my socks.
I wonder what their lives were like
How did they spend their days?
What about their special times?
I'll never know their ways.
If only someone had taken time
To tell who, what, where or when,
These faces of my heritage
would come to life again.
Could this become the fate
Of pictures we take today?
The faces and memories
Someday to be passed away?
Make time to save your stories
Seize the opportunity when it knocks,
Or someday you and yours could be
The strangers in the box.

|JOSHUA S. YOUNG||RE: Jessie May|
I totally overlooked that on her Death Certificate. I apologize.
What a coincidence though that both married men named John MAY.
Thank You for your time ma'am. :)
|JOSHUA S. YOUNG||Jessie MAY Info|
Hello. I was just wondering where you found the info on Jessie MAY...I just want to ensure I have the correct Jessie MAY. The Jessie MAY I am trying to find was married to my Great-Great Grandfather John Alexander MAY (I uploaded her Death Certificate). Is he the same John MAY you refer to on Jessie's page? Thank You for your time.

Thank you so much for the bio. You have helped me before and I so appreciate it.
|I Remember When||The Halsteads|
I have just given you all the Halstead names I have in Hosey Hill. Hopefully you can work them up and look up and add information to the pages. Information is important for other looking. Find a Grave has become such a great research tool for people that cannot afford to subscribe to the other services such as Ancestry.
Kelkings, Yes and Thank you go ahead and send a copy of Horatio Duckworth funeral home record. Have a Good day Wonderer

|Sharon Williams||John Kennedy DeMoss|
I am researching John K DeMoss (Find A Grave Memorial# 88324312) as part of the 'big picture'. In searching for information on his wife Mary Ellen Cannon DeMoss, I found her to be on the 1900 Neodesha Census. I am wondering if the death date of 1883 is engraved on her headstone and if so, does it look like it is the original or if it was engraved at a later date? I dont understand this discrepancy. Can you help with this? Thank you.

Well it looks like my hunch paid off.
However, it would have stayed just a hunch without your great investigative work! Thank you!!!
