I am Kerry Elkins. I live in Oregon with my wife Joyce. I'm retired. I have been busy working on the family trees of my side (Elkins, Monroe, Stansbury, Patchin, Usher, Satterwhite, Hallum and Woody) I grew up in Neodesha, KS, and have many relatives there. |
The ideal person to transfer one of the many memorials I have made for the Neodesha area would fit along the lines set forth by FindAGrave, I am more than happy to transfer any of these memorials that are not part of my family to anyone that promises to care for them. Cousins, aunts, and close friends please apply.
STRANGERS IN A BOX
Come, look with me inside this drawer
In this box I've often seen,
At the pictures, black and white
faces proud, still, serene.
I wish I knew the people
These strangers in the box,
Their names and all their memories
are lost among my socks.
I wonder what their lives were like
How did they spend their days?
What about their special times?
I'll never know their ways.
If only someone had taken time
To tell who, what, where or when,
These faces of my heritage
would come to life again.
Could this become the fate
Of pictures we take today?
The faces and memories
Someday to be passed away?
Make time to save your stories
Seize the opportunity when it knocks,
Or someday you and yours could be
The strangers in the box.

|RLKenyon||Ruth (Kenyon) Deer|
I was very pleased to find my cousin Ruth (Kenyon) Deer on your Findagrave post. The information was from a biography of Ruth that I wrote. This included my e-mail address, which resulted in a person connected to her contacting me and telling me about it.
I am glad that you put the information to good use, and that you included my email address. You did a very good job.
How did you find the biography that I wrote? I would like to contact others having a connection to Ruth.
My biographies of Ruth and her relatives are online at the Iowa Genweb site.

Leona was my grandfathers 2nd wife
|Amy H.||Anne Gibson|
Thanks for linking Anne to her parents. Her father, Gus, was my grandpa's brother. I always knew of her as Annalou, my father's first cousin. I know that she did a lot of genealogy work on our family.

A thank you for your kindness to me and for your skills in posting the great photos! The pictures will be such a delight for those who may be looking.

Thank you. I have enjoyed all these years of working with F.A.G. and I hate having to give it up. But I'm just sliding more and more behind in my SAC responses. Cancer can be unrelenting.
