I prefer to limit transfers to established, regular contributors to Find a Grave who demonstrate an understanding of the FAQs and purpose of the site. Please use the SAC function (edit button on memorial) to request transfers, and be sure to let me know specifically how you are related. If you are brand new here, welcome! Folks come and go often, and I like to make sure you're going to stick around and contribute regularly before I transfer. You may want to read the "help with Find a Grave" section to understand the purpose of the site. |
I volunteer at Oakland Cemetery in Atlanta, and am working on photo-documenting the whole cemetery. At this point, I prefer not to transfer memorials for this cemetery (other than mandatory transfers, of course) because my research is ongoing. In the meantime, please feel free to send me as much additional info as you wish via the edit button on the memorial.
NOTE: Obituaries are a wonderful source of information, but findagrave has rules about how they may be used. You can always glean facts from them for the bio. If they are out of copyright, or if you hold the copyright, you can transcribe them. Regardless of who has the copyright, you are not supposed to post them as a photograph - regardless of whether you scanned it, took a screen shot, or downloaded it from another website. Please feel free to send me obit text via the edit function, and I will use the info to add to the bio. Obits posted as photos will be removed, and it just ends up wasting your time.

I wonder if I may have your permission to use your cemetery photo on my family website. Check it out at http://freienmuth-shortridge.com/ernst/buchheim-cemeteries.html. This is how I'd be using the photos and obituaries I find on Find A Grave, with 'used with permission' in the caption.

Hi. I was wondering what evidence you have that Sarah Castleberry's maiden name was "Hall" and that her nickname was "Sallie." Thanks so much.

Well, my record-keeping in the past was not as good as it is today... I believe I have his birthplace listed as Buffalo as that's where the family was living in 1850. On my Ancestry.com page, I have Albany. Sorry!
By the way, my first husband was descended from Louis Daemicke.

Sure. I just happened to find it on microfilm this morning while searching for something else and knew you were working on the Ferree family.

After further review, it may be that James Coyne and Sarah Quigly Coyne were the parents of the wife of Charles D. Dickinson. Do you have photos of the tombstone of Charles D. Dickinson?
|Linda & Joe Richards||Memorial # 107530014|
Please review the photo you have posted for Charles D. Dickinson. The tombstone photo you have posted for this memorial is for a James Coyne and his wife, Sarah Quigly Coyne. I am helping a cousin research his family. Charles D. Dickinson was his grandfather, and has no known relationship to James Coyne or Sarah Quigly Coyne.
Perhaps you have the correct photo for this memorial, so we would appreciate your posting it and removing the incorrect photo. Thank you.
I noticed that the member who has many memorials in Oakland is asking for other people to take over management of any they want. Since you do so much wonderful work for this cemetery's memorials, I thought you might want to ask for management.
She is offering these to anyone, not just family members.
Her name is Judy K. Brantley/Wilson and her member # is
46578531. Among others she has John C. Rogers # 79167981 and Florence Rogers Saul # 54201126. You recently added photos on both of these memorials. ~ LVRV

Any family findagrave members have yet to express an interest in these infant memorials and, in their absence, a dedicated contributor who did create their mother's memorial and research the family links would appear to be a good custodian of the records... Appreciate your body of work !

ok that will be fine.
Thanks a lot. I appreciate all that you do.

Thanks so much for letting me know about the previously established memorial for Florence Rogers Saul. I will delete mine so that there is no confusion. Your photos are excellent. ~ LVRV
