regarding Mabel Groskreutz.
Your post regarding Mabel Groskreutz.
You wrote me:
Pleasant Grove cemetery has no record that Mabel is buried there. Do you have any verification that notes she is? Her father Anthony and mother Phoebe Pearl at at Evergreen in Prairie du Chien and her brother Vernon is buried in ILL. I've found records that show her son Eugene and husband both pre-deceased here. There's a request for picture of her grave, but Bob who manages the records said there isn't one.

The memorial states that:
Following a private memorial service for the family today, her remains will be buried in Pleasant Grove Cemetery in McGregor, Iowa. Arrangements are under the direction of Tri-County Funeral Home of Highland.
Most likely as it says "remains" she was cremated and the family took her ashes there. Contact the funeral home for further information. That is all I have. Thank you for your interest.

RE: Albert Long
I have already marked their memorials as NO GRAVE MARKER. If I were to place photo requests back up for the three family members, would you be willing to place the photo of the area where their graves are, with a notation added at the bottom of the photo that this is the area were their unmarked graves are located? I have had this same situation before and the photo of the location was used.

Let me know how you feel regarding this,

Pleasant Grove Cemetery, McGregor, Clayton, Iowa
THANK YOU for letting me know that the graves of Albert Stoneman Long, his wife, Marjorie Richardson Long, and their son, Norman Richardson Long, are all unmarked graves. I will delete the photo requests for them. The burial reports were provided to me from the cemetery, did not indicate that they were unmarked graves.

Thank you for your assistance,

I am a Vermont Civil War buff, and am presently working on a project to identify the last resting place of many soldiers/sailors that ties to Vermont. George Madden is one such soldier. May I use the photo of his marker that you posted on Find A Grave, to post on the Vermont Civil War site? ( You would receive credit for this.

Thank you for your consideration, Deanna French

I feel sad to see the stone in such bad condition. Does the town/city have cemetery commissioners that could clean it, or hire some maintenance help? Or a volunteer group such as veterans organizations that would do it?

Yes, Fred Anson Bonney is buried in the Campbell Cemetery, Eastman, WI. His grave has no marker, but he is buried next to his wife Julia. In the picture, he is buried to the right of Julia's stone.
