In my youth, I often looked through the box of old family images and negatives that was stored far away in the closet. Who are these people and what do they mean to me? While at college, my Architectural studies allowed me the opportunity to work in the Photo Lab. This experience enabled me to take those negatives and make them real, and as such was my first opportunity to create a family album and to understand our family's history. The start of a life long effort! |
The advent of the computer and the internet just made it all that much easier. Over the years I have enjoyed making connections with family in the name of family research. There is a lot of information available from various sources and it takes one family member to organize it and make it available to all!
As past president of Clan MacCallum/Malcolm Society of North America Inc and now their "Family History Coordinator" I truly value our rich heritage and I endeavor to assist others in their ancestry quest.

I see you took stone photos in the Cartwright, Manitoba Cemetery. Do you live in that area?

Neil, would you check the tombstone photo on this one, please. It's a really cool picture but I think it belongs on a different memorial. Thanks much, Cynthia

That's great Neil. What a shame I wasn't told, I would have come, would have been great to meet with everyone especially over something so amazing as far as family history is concerned. There are a few of us here who might come one day to see it, but for now Im so happy to have a photo!

Hi Neil cant believe it has been 2 years nearly. I was waiting for penny to let me know about the new headstone but looked today and saw that you had taken a photo of it. Thanks so much and for all the help you were while we were looking for her final resting place!

Sister knew him and tried to help. His brother wrote the article hoping it would be read and help others. The family obviously feels mental health is something that needs to be brought out in the open and the stigmas associated, be no greater than when dealing with a physical illness. It is up to you, as you are the one who made the memorial, I just felt that if it helps one person see that it can happen to anyone- weel you know the rest.
Thank you though for your time and dedication to making this a great resource for all.
