how and why did Garrett Parker's stone
got "dumped" in a field in Las Cruces, NM
when his burial is in Bethlehem Cemetery,
Fayette County, Tennessee?
Garrett Parker # 66038225
His stone was found in a field near Las Cruces, NM.
It was brought to the Masonic Cemetery, thinking it
was stolen from his grave, but Garrett wasn't buried
there. The stone remained in the office for decades,
but with the help Find A Grave and a number of
volunteers, his burial site was found.
His stone now rests with him.
I live in Las Cruces, New Mexico.
My father's side of my family is from Henry Co., Tn.
My mother's family is from Stutman Co., North Dakota,
and from Preston, Minn.
You are welcomed to use my photo's that I have taken,
but please give me credit for the photograph.
If I have made a memorial of one of your relatives or friend,
I'd be very happy to transfer (unless they are also my relatives!), please just ask.

No worries, the Villa's are family of mine in New Mexico, It's just that I got the wrong Antonio and I believe it is a grandson instead. If you would let me keep these I will definitely add to them and link everyone up. Thanks so much for your help!

Thank you. That is really nice of you.

Yes thank you. I am related though not in my direct line.

I am not related to him either.
I live in Portales have been working several cemeteries within about 75 miles of Portales. One of them is Longs cemetery near Dora. I was in Longs yesterday to look for a couple of relatives of a guy. Since I had not been down there for several months, I went ahead and photographed all the graves I found with markers or tombstones.
When I got home, I checked the photos against Find A Grave. When I check a memorial, I look for names of relatives and try to add edits to link them when possible. That is how I ended up making the edit entries for Virgil – his parents and some siblings are buried in Longs.

Look at the 1940 Census with Willadean that I have attached to her in my tree & marriage record to Lloyd and see the George W Redden that is 8 days old in 1940. Willadean living with her grandmother.
Yes Take Me Bake cafe is still there and thriving.
Since my Mom died I have not been too industrious but now that the weather is changing I have felt better. I MISS her so much.
I hope to make great strides at the Paris City Cemetery in the next few weeks. I found someone to help me clean around gravestones and dig some of them out.
Never can tell about the weather and when it will get cold. It was in the 90s this past weekend and this morning it was 40. Snows are usually in Jan & Feb.
Check out Lloyd's father's memorial. Posted new photo there and for several of the Lloyd's brothers too.
