Grief never ends,
but it changes.
It is a passage,
not a place to stay.
Grief is not a sign of
weakness or lack of faith...
it is the price of love.

The words above are thought to be based on a eulogy Queen Elizabeth made for her sister Princess Margaret.

The little wheelie arrows under twisted pictures are for repositioning them...good luck with that.

First FaG told us NOT to put dots after initials in memorials, but now have apparently changed their desire...after all can see there have been no periods put in after initials for some years now...maybe just excluding initials will be best...bleh.

Because some have found missing family members and asked where certain data came from: over the last few years, we've been attempting to go thru' the progressive logs of Fairview Cemetery of Albuquerque and make sure everyone we can find a record of is added into FindAGrave...about ½ of the 12,000 burials in the old/north part of Fairview are unmarked.

As I've learned to read Fairview Historian Susan Schwartz' databases better, I could've kicked myself for not making charts & over-laying names long ago, especially because I've had my own questions on who these I walk near might be. So I started doing the names for Section 9B out in Old Fairview, but also skip around into a couple of the baby/child areas and the oldest areas (starting in the late 1800s)...the 16s.

I also check for an online death certificate &/or obituary to try to find age, because such isn't listed in records so can't be determined if there's no marker...and family members.

None of us doing this get paid, we just have a passion for these semi-lost people and you who might be trying to find out whatever happened to them ~ thousands of tuberculosis victims from out of state died around Albuquerque...and it's such a treat to see what they looked like when you add their pictures...THANKS so much!

Back to twisted pictures: our County Keeper noticed and informed me about April of 2020 that a glitch in FaG coding is causing SOME pix...and even tokens...many dated/posted years ago...to rotate, but it's on them to figure out; even using the little arrows under pictures causes them to then flip too far so please don't bother to ask me (and others) to fix system problems...sadly not their first/last/only. And, as usual, personal pictures are getting smaller as ads are...well, you get it...perhaps a day will come when it's just more helpful to Ancestry/FaG's philosophy for me to start removing pix that are crowding their space.

RE: DNA ~ altho' told all his life he was adopted, my older grandkids' other grandfather was given a fake NM birth certificate to show his loving parents as real; they had no idea who created him other than his mother was a teenager from Chicago. His bio father, also then a teen, was found in 2019 via DNA testing...still alive. This older man won't interact, was probably stunned himself, but such is the parental link in CentiMorgans. I've a strong inkling of the bio mom by logical propinquity, will wait for release of the 1950 census to see for sure as she's deceased, but had never had one teeny hope to learn the bio dad...what a DNA bittersweet blessing!

Along side our humans and Entlands, we attempt to care for at least 2 dogs & 12 cats so I don't make more than a couple memorials a day on average; but have done research into the families of lots of them, making me gladly able to help with most people's ancestral brick walls however I can.

As the activity on FindAGrave increases, memorials and pictures left to be added decrease. There are already over 200,000,000 memorials; so considering that half the people who ever lived on Planet Earth are living now, and that it's unknown where over 90% of the dead are...how many does that leave? ½-LOL and go figure.

Same subject, different angle: mega-BOO to a grown woman who uses social security records and fantasy to PLOP people erroneously wherever she pleases just to feel self-important by raising what only SHE considers contributions, while actually lowering her value...BOO until families & picture-takers are not sent on wild-goose chases by her PLOPPING.

When the picture request function first started, fulfillment uploads were limited in size to 250K: a comparatively tiny 1/32 of 8M now allowed. Back then there was only one guy and me taking pix in Arlington National (all that white granite for matching military markers comes from Vermont...not China :°D), and there weren't many requests, so you can see how membership and contributions have exploded! I've had to tell my eager grandteen that there will probably be little picture-taking left to do when another few years pass, just always recent deaths to add.

The feature for LINKING of family members was also not available back then, and may take time to be updated by 'SAC's.

Us'uns who are willing & able: little burial grounds usually need cleaning and repairs; but don't go alone, and be careful ~ I've encountered snakes, dogs, & Black Widow spiders...and been told creepy tales about the LIVING I might encounter.

Some might think others of us are too possessive about pictures we take/post, but you probably haven't encountered a self-aggrandizer who deletes memorials after lifting the pictures others added to them and then remakes memorials with same pictures claimed as their own. You can surely use pictures I've taken and posted on this site in your online family trees by making a connective link to the original and/or including "© FindAGrave member #46897564"; none may be sold and/or exchanged for any type of payment.

I usually do some research into those whose graves I take pictures of and have found my heart aches when people are assumed…even by themselves…to be kids of step-parents (usually their mother as so many died not long after childbirth) because their bio-parent died too young…AND for ladies whose maiden names were obliterated while yet living for becoming *Mrs John Jacob Dingleheimer* instead of *Ebbie Ursula Meadows Dingleheimer* ~ most ALL females losing their identities up into the 1960s; so I'm elated whenever I successfully work the puzzles ~ better than word math, sudoku, or cryptograms ~ of restoring names & family connections as the most appropriate and long-lasting FLOWERS to their memories.

May all of Granny Vance's roses perpetually bloom bright and happy!

The book of life is brief,
And once the pages read
All but love is dead:
That is my belief.
(sung by Bobby Goldsboro in 1970...when he & God were watching Scotty grow)

God is Love.
