I really need your help -
Looking at a few old Raleigh County cemeteries - - in the Sand Lick area...
Several years ago - I went to one - which was down a really winding road - - and had to get out of the car and climb a hill (on the left of the roadway) - - and I know I don't know the name of the cemetery .... it may be Caperton or it may be Phipps Cemetery ... On Find-A-Grave their are Phipps' buried in both - - but I'm wondering if they are in fact the same cemetery.
Any help you can give would be greatly, greatly appreciated...

Shauna, thank you for taking the time to capture the photos of Vernia Tolley O'Dell and Della Shumate Tolley's headstones. Many descendants of the families live thousands of miles away and cannot easily get to any cemeteries in WV.

Some times the names of the cemeteries don't always reflect what are on peoples death certificates and obituaries. There are a number of people buried there where their death certificates and obituaries refer to the cemetery as the Daniels Cemetery. So, I am wondering if you could put some kind of a description on the Clay Cemetery record that shows "also known as the Daniels Cemetery". This would reduce some of the confusion with that cemetery.

Re: your Edith Mae Pettry Daniel #19750981 and my Edith Mae (Holstein) Pettry Daniel #5052999, both in Clay Cemetery on Sandlick Road.
Until just recently, I had Edith in the wrong cemetery, thinking that the Clay Cemetery was named the Daniels Cemetery at Sandlick. Edith is my wife's step-mother. I wonder if it would be possible if we could use my record since I already have all of the family links, and my memorial is more up to date. The only thing that I don't have is a picture of Edith's tombstone.
Also, I have additional information that we need to update on her 1st husband's tombstone. I will send those changes through the standard Find A Grave update procedure.
If you don't want to do this, then we can make arrangements to get your record up to date, with family links, etc. Either way, we only need one record there.
Let me know.

I always thought that the Snuffer cemetery was on the property. I will ask around and see if anyone can remember if their was one on the property. I think the homestead may have been covered when they made Stephens Lake. Seems my dad mentioned that when we were there once (more than 40 years ago).
We have a Stover reunion in about two months any maybe someone will remember. May thanks for giving me the graves to care for thank you very much. I will let you know if I find out something.

Hi Shauna, All the Wilsons in Snuffer cemetery are my relatives, would you like to transfer them to me and I can add the information and pictures I have on them? Thanks for taking care of the graves, it is important for them to be remembered.
