Bio Photo Please do not add Photos of obituary to the memorials I add. They should not be added as a photo. If I see them I will send them in to be removed. I will add it to the bio if you send it.I will not add family names if they have not passed. This is in the FAQ's

What is Find A Grave?

Find a Grave's mission is to find, record and present final disposition information from around the world as a virtual cemetery experience.

Memorial contributions to Find A Grave should fulfill that mission - registration of the final disposition. If the memorial contribution corresponds with only the main mission, then the memorial fulfills its purpose as part of Find A Grave's mission.

Find a Grave memorials may contain rich content including pictures, biographies and more specific information. Members can leave remembrances via 'virtual flowers' on the memorials they visit, completing the virtual cemetery experience.

Find A Grave is a resource for anyone in finding the final disposition of family, friends, and 'famous' individuals.

When adding names it should not be a race to be number one, It should be about adding to the right cemetery and not make a lot of doubles as some do.

This is not a family tree site. If you want your family tree there are lots of sites for that.

I put a lot of time in to what I do. I take care of all I add.

The new edit system is so much faster. Please use it. I may not add all if you send it the old way.

Sorry I will not link to an unknown burial.
I will link a cremation but not from the 1800's

I transfer only family that falls in the guidelines. You can add photos and suggest corrections without having to request management. Simply having someone in your family tree is not grounds for a management transfer request.

Transfer requests should be for direct relatives within four generations. This would be your SIBLINGS, PARENTS, GRANDPARENTS,GREAT-GRANPARENTS,CHILDREN, GRANDCHILDREN, and GREAT-GRANDCHILDREN.

I would like to know how you are family, (Like your mothers father) not just my grandfather.

I do not transfer to name collectors or Just because someone is in your family tree.

The goal is not to "own" every memorial of those to whom you are related. The ultimate goal should be to have meaningful, accurate memorials that honor those who have passed away, regardless of who created the memorial or who maintains it.

If You use my photos on Ancestry Please give credit to Stone Finders. After all if we did not take the photo and post it you would have to get it yourself.

Burial unknown

If someone adds to the right cemetery first the unknown are sometime removed. The one that is in the right cemetery first may stay, so if I search a cemetery and do not find the name I add it. If you move you unknown I will sent them in to find a grave. I walk a lot of cemetery's and take hundreds of photos. I should not have to look for your burial unknown.

Thomas Saban # 51723377
From what we have been told, the older family there were unable to locate the exact location on the farm. Apparently the land there where he and first wife are buried is no longer in this family's hands. It is on my 'to do' list to try to locate land records, so at least I could enter that description.

Anyway I did put Thomas' mother's full name in one of my letters, so it would be great if you could add her as well.

RE: Thomas Saban # 51723377
Thank you for adding it. I am aware of all the small cemeteries in Maine that have been created because of a small number or even one stone.

The problem we are going to run into more and more are the graves with no visible stones, either there was no stone, a wooden cross was used and has deteriorated, or the stone has sunk. As I put in our profile, we do link to those who have proven the people died in a specific area.

In cases like this where the first wife died in Lincoln County (Hannah Thorne by the way) and the husband was returned there when he died, and there are no stones, I see a necessity to put up the memorials. I personally believe we owe it to the families when there is research to back it up.

I have my Dad's infant sister who died at just a few days old and is buried on what was then the Thompson Ranch in a small private cemetery in 1909. In 1978, that land was sold for development and my brother (grr) did not advise the buyers that the cemetery was there. What they did with the stones I don't know (and I personally know there was a stone for her), but they developed over it. Fortunately, they made a wildlife refuge/walk through in the development right there. So I have never pursued it with them. It is rather nice walk.

Again thank you. And how is your weather? We just heard there was an F2 tornado near Boston. Did you get that storm?

Lewis Saban Sr. was buried on private land in Lincoln County, Maine with his first wife Hannah. There are no markers. This was information from current Saban relatives in Palermo. Would you at the very least put a notation in Thomas' bio as to who his father was, along with the above information?

Caleb and Betsey Rowe
Hello Stone finders

You recently recorded, with photos, two of my 2nd great grand parents, Caleb and Betsey Rowe. Memorials # 132185469 and 132185479 respectively. Thank you so very much.

Question, Do you know to I can connect my Rowe's "Find a Grave" sites to my Tree in Ancestory.com? The person at Ancestry could not help. They sent a general explanation on adding a fact but it was of no help. I also looked at "Find a Grave" FAQ's but could not find an answer.

Thanks again,

John Agner

Townsend Family in Riverview Cemetery
Thank you so much for creating the memorials and uploading photographs for the Amos Townsend family in Norridgewock. He and Triphena are my 4th great grandparents and the information on the stones is filling in some blanks. I will be sending edits to link children to their parents and provide additional information if I can. Are you related or just live nearby?

Thanks again!
