You have my permission to use any photos that I have taken, for any purpose. You do not have to give me credit for the photo. |
If there are any photos I have taken that you would like a larger sized image--just let me know. I can e-mail the larger sized image to you.
If you are interested in managing (some of) the memorials I have in Iowa, Kentucky, or Tennessee; get in touch with me. I no longer have the time to take care of them properly, so will be transferring them to interested people--or to FindaGrave's care. There are some I want to keep, but I will transfer the rest of them to anyone willing to maintain them.
What I Am Currently Working On
Evergreen Cemetery at
Cincinnati, Appanoose County, Iowa
30 Sep 2016 - I am currently working on adding photos and memorials for the Evergreen Cemetery. As of this date I have visited this cemetery 5 times.
There are a lot of stones that have toppled over and are buried in the ground. I will start working on these as soon as I can. I have gotten permission from the 'Cincinnati City Hall' to do so.
I was also told by the 'Cincinnati City Hall' that the sexton's records for this cemetery have been lost--or misplaced. No one currently knows where these records are. Thus, when I dig up the stones I will be unable to know for sure if any of these buried stones are in the correct locations. There are several stones that are lying against a tree stump. I have no idea which row these stones belong in. I will identify these stones and make a list of the names so that people will know which ones are out of place. These stones had been moved out of their row to facilitate mowing and to make sure the stones were not damaged during the mowing process.
133 – name(s) I've entered
425 – total for Evergreen Cemetery
There are still 71 FindaGrave memorials with no photo. When I started on 11 September, there were 174 that needed photos.
White Cemetery at
Cincinnati, Appanoose County, Iowa
30 Sep 2016 - I am also currently working on photos for the White Cemetery that I took in August and September 2016.
I am doing a general cleanup and restoration of fallen stones in the cemetery. I have dug up all the stones that I can find. There may be others--hopefully I will discover these as time goes by. I have placed all these stones on concrete slabs or concrete blocks. Some broken stones I have taken home, cleaned and have started the repair work on them. This will be a long drawn-out process that will continue into next year.
These are all of the stones that I have Dug Up at the White Cemetery.
As of 30 Sep 2016, I have visited this cemetery 19 times and have spent 54+ hours doing work there.
White Cemetery totals:
67 – name(s) I've entered
136 – total for White Cemetery
There are still 6 FindaGrave memorials with no photo. When I started on 3 August, there were 27 that needed photos. Actually, there are 5 that need photos. One of the memorials is a duplicate of a memorial that already has a photo.
These are my proudest accomplishments at the White Cemetery. I raised 3 Civil War stones from either being sunk, or buried in the ground; and then stood them upright again.
"Do not go where the path may lead, go instead where there is no path and leave a trail." Ralph Waldo Emerson.

Thank you so much for your time, day, effort and gas in locating and taking the photographs of the headstones of Marshall Thadias and his wife Orpha R. Auxier. I think the photographs look great for the problems that you had taking them.
I appreciate it so much.
Have a great Wednesday and a great rest of the week.

Sir, I would be more than happy to care for my great uncles. You had posted on Samuel's memorial, asking if anyone knew him. Once I found the information and your question, I just wanted to answer it. I hope I didn't offend.
If you would like.to transfer their maintenance, their memorials are listed below. Thank you for your interest in them, and care of their memorials.
Samuel Murphey: 122109258
Presley T Murphey: 122109347

I believe Samuel Murphey is the son of Jacob and Druscilla Murphy. Their son George was my great great grandfather. My family and I are searching for Jacob and Druscilla, but are not having my luck.
We found a Drusilla Murphy buried in Virginia, her grave says Wife of JF Murphy. He is not listed near by, that we've found.
If I am correct, then Samuel's brother Presley is also buried here, perhaps nearby his grave.
Samuel was born March 15, 1850 and died 11 days later. His stone, recorded in this book reads "Son of J. & D."
There is a wonderful book, which lists Samuel and Presley on page 51.
Thank you for your care, and for adding his memorial here.

I can't thank you enough for the memorials from Rose Hill and for the book you sent. As I am going through, I realize that many of the same last names are also in Oak Grove and Mt Carmel. In particular, I am looking at the last name House. If you are still inclined to transfer memorials, I would value any from Oak Grove and Mt Carmel. I noticed that you have thought about transferring to FindaGrave--I most definitely am interested in any of those as well. Thank you SO MUCH for all the work you have done!

Thanks for taking that picture and putting forth the effort. It is appreciated.

Thanks for catching that. The info had come from her death certificate, but I know from experience that the info is not always correct.
I also appreciate the work you are doing at Evergreen Cemetery. Adding photos ensures our ancestors will be remembered with more than just names and dates.

Thank you so much for the book! I will happily reimburse you the postage--just let me know. It does have what I want--plot numbers (and that map you have on the front of the cemetery should help too). It will take me a while, but that is my next project.
