I love genealogy. My husband and I traveled to find the gravesites of our relatives and were so thrilled when we found them. We took pictures and made memorial pages for our family albums so when I found Find A Grave I was happy to be able to add them for future family researchers. What a great idea! I hope I can help someone else find who they are looking for. Credit FAG, it is a wonderful site.

Just read some messages on your profile and found a historical research link I knew nothing about...VSU. Thanks for inadvertently helping me. Thanks so much.

Maggie Ratcliffe transfer
Thanks for the transfer. I will add what I have found out about her SENSELESS murder once I am done. It is VERY sad of what I have read.

Thank you for letting me know there was already a photo of Lena's marker on her memorial page. Since it wasn't on the "cover" page, I neglected to view the remaining photos. Usually, the grave marker photo is on the first page. After all, it is a findagrave web site and you'd think it'd be one of the first photos posted. Still, thank you. I appreciate it.

Cat, thanks so much for filling my photo request for Kathryn (Shaw) Brady. Much appreciated! I'm also grateful you created the memorial page for her hubby Holly L. Brady & took/added his headstone photo. Now I can confirm his burial location & was also able to link the 2 of them with their son Joseph F. at that same cemetery! Many thanks & Happy Thanksgiving :)

Elephare Hutto
Ella Hutto was my great grandmother and I have been trying to find out more about her for at least 20 years. Before I add the bio you sent, I need to make sure this Elephare Hutto is her. In the 1870 census she is listed as living with Malisa Thompson, and may have been an orphan. I notice that in the 1870 census, William A. Forehand and Rebecca are listed in a seperate household just above the Malisa Thompson household. Perhaps Elephare was her real name and she lived in both households at different times. I would very much like to know who her parents were. If you learn any more on Ella Hutto, please let me know! Thanks!

RE: Mariah Miller-Valdosta, GA
Also, would you mind telling me where you found the detailed information about the family from 1910-1940? I tried searching based on what you sent & I still wasn't able to locate Rosetta.

I've been saving the pages to put everything in a photo album.

RE: Mariah Miller-Valdosta, GA
Oh my gosh! There WAS another sister named Rosetta who married someone with the last name Scott. It was extremely confusing as to why she did NOT appear in the 1900 Census record when Mariah was still living, because I knew that my grandmother Jerusha was the youngest. I assumed that her & Fannie were close in age & Rosetta may have already married & was no longer in the home. I tried looking for an 1890 record to confirm this since the girls would have been young, & that's when I found out 99% of the records were burned.

In fact, Jerusha's lineage tends to recycle names which is how I knew the 1900 Census record was accurate. Maybe its because she was the one to leave her but still wanted a connection to them.

Frances, Rosetta, Mariah, Mary, Charlton (Charles/Charlie) & Dorothy will appear throughout.

But I guess after Mariah's death the 2 eldest girls split responsibility of caring for the younger ones. I'll be requesting the obituary also!
