I have been interested in genealogy since the early 1980s. My paternal grandmother gave me her information on the family lines and encouraged me to keep up with the family - which I have. She would have been so excited to find the many family that I have been able to find via the internet and all its availability. |
I am a member of the Grady County Historical Society, and was one of the editors of the "Cemeteries of Grady County, Georgia", compiled in 2006. Having been a member of the Society since 2000, I have served as President, Vice President, Secretary and an area representative for the Spence Community.
I am also a member of the Mitchell County Genealogy Society, beginning a project of adding information and photos to Find A Grave site of Mitchell County Cemeteries.
I am gathering information and pictures and in the process of compiling and soon to publish a book on the history of the Spence community of Grady County - including its people, businesses, schools, and churches.

I have never had this situation before, there was no way for me to know that she had been buried. But, I did transfer her over to the cemetery, but, since I didn't have it in the right place, you get the prize I guess.

Thank you for taking a photo of his grave marker. He's age 2 on the 1900 census but his grave marker has him born 1900. Interesting. Thank you!
