This site helps preserve our family histories and information that can fade with time from our cemeteries. I'm glad to be able to contribute and want to thank all of you who have contributed to this wonderful resource.|
My husband deserves many thanks for driving me to cemeteries or stopping at ones we see along the road as we travel. He helps me watch where I step and for things that crawl. He has walked many of these cemeteries with me or patiently sat waiting for me.
My Great-Uncle Will walked the cemetery in Cherokee, Texas with me when I was in grade school and told me about some of the people buried there. I wish I had been old enough to realize how important that information was. He was from the time when the men in the community dug the grave for someone for free and it showed love, honor, and respect.
At that same time in my life my Grandmother told me not to step on the graves as a way to show respect. She was also an example of love and respect in her actions as I watched her clear the weeds from my Grandfather's grave by chopping them with a hoe.
If I've created a page for one of your family members or friends, I will respect your request and happily transfer the page to you. Please use the Edit tab on the page to request the transfer so all the information is available.

Hi! Could you please remove Steve Thompson (#58797596) as a son of Sam Thompson. He is not a relative. (My great-grandaunt, Ollie John Thompson, died in 1912, and could not have been the informant.) Thanks!!!

Thanks for the suggestions. I gladly incorporate additional information in memorials, when reliable sources are provided. All too often in my experience, data submitted via F/Gís 'automated' suggestion system is inaccurate, and sometimes even conflicting. Since the automated system provides no way to cite sources, I ask that all corrections/suggestions be submitted with evidence supporting each proposed change, by using the Suggest any other correction or addition option under the memorialís EDIT tab. Edits remaining undocumented after two days will be declined.
|Skip Farrow||RE: Pernel Berry|
Betty, thanks so much for the Find A Grave # for Pernel Berry's mother. I have sent you a edit to link to 48382294. The Berry's in this cemetery are all part of our Berry family. Because you sent this information we were able to clear up the mystery of Gretchen in our family tree.

Do you have permission to use the photos from the funeral home. If not please remove them as it is against F-A-G rules. That is why I don't add them myself. I do appreciate the information that you added.

Since you seem to know him, send the birth and death again thru edit and I will accept it. But I will ask you to remove the funeral home photo unless it is a photo of yours. They are against the Find a Grave rules. If It yours, more than happy to have it.

I added the birth date. Will add the obit after he is buried. That is just the way I do it. Also no proof that he was born and died in Cookville, Just because he was of Cookville does not necessarily mean he died there. I will check further when I add the obit. My father lived in one county from the day he was born until he died age 89. He died in adjoining county and this happen a lot when they are in a hospital. If it says died at his residence I accept the place that it gives.
