|I am the daughter of Verne Leslie Smith, Jr. (b. 1923) and his wife, Clara R. (Nicholson) Smith (1926-2000). |
I was married first to Paul Archer Cummings, Sr., son of the late Archer Fownes Cummings and Ethel Alma (Johnson) Cummings. We had two children and one grandchild. I am now married to Wayne A. Wright, son of James Whitman Wright and Dorothy Margaret Jennings Wright.
My Granddad, Verne Leslie Smith, Sr., left notes about our Mayflower heritage. I took his notes over 30 years ago, and found that it was correct, except he had left out one generation! I was hooked, and over the years I have spent thousands of hours researching my heritage. Mom's mother, Granny (Clara Ziebold) Nicholson, also left details about her family, and, happily, I was able to interview her while she was still alive.
After a few years, I began research on my first husband's family, and found that Paul and I were distant relatives (7C1R) with many common ancestors in this country.
Some years later, I later began some family history work for my then boyfriend, Michael Gould, and found that not only was he my 7C1R, he was also a distant cousin to my first husband, again with many shared ancestors.
When I met my present husband, Wayne Alden Wright, we quickly suspected that we had common Mayflower ties. After research, I have found that he, too, is my 7C1R, and is also related to the other two men who were so very important in my life.
After I spend some time researching these people, regardless of whose ancestor they may be, they become my family, and are cherished and respected.
Some of my research can be found online at Ancestry.com; my database there, for obvious reasons, is called "Kissing Cousins." Much more of my notes is in my computer database, and some is still in handwritten form. I am in the process of trying to update all of the bios of our more recent family members on Find A Grave, but it is a timely process, and will take a while. Please feel free to help contribute information!
I am living in Salem NH, and would be willing to attempt to do some cemetery photography in the greater Salem area.

Dolly was a close friend of my family in WI. I sang at her funeral. You did a good job describing her. :) I was missing her today, and what you wrote really made me smile. Thank you.
|Penny Chandonnet||Margaret (Smith) Hunter|
My name is Penny Chandonnet and I stumbled across this website and found some of my family! The first person that I found was my grandmother Margaret (Smith) Hunter. We never knew much of her father, Charles Roland Smith, or his family as he left her mother Ruby (Abercombie) Smith, shortly after she was born. It was nice to discover some additional relatives that we have!

I'm sorry but until you delete her Memorial I can not connect her to Clarence Jameson, MY greatgrandfather.
(p.s. WHERE did you get the Obituary for her that You quoted on her Memorial??)
And looking forward to your corrections and removal of duplicate Memorial for MY greatgrandmother, Ella Burns Newcomb Kelley so that there isn't duplicate documentation for her.
Unfortunately the stonemarker could NOT be found but thank you for your efforts. I removed it so that no one else would go and try to find what doesn't exist. I researched MY Jameson family long ago in 2008 and 2009 and have more than you could imagine from Deeds, Wills, Probates, Vital Records and on the list goes. 7 folders full of materials, pictures and so much that was given to me in my venture of knowledge.
Would you kindly change the last name of Alice Lucy Bellevue Jameson to FONTAINE. That was her name upon Death. Also Ella Burns Newcomb Jameson to KELLEY. That was her name upon Death. If you noticed as I mentioned prior, I added her to FindAGrave back in 2009 and would greatly appreciate if you would delete your duplicate entry so there isn't 2 Recorded for her.
Lastly, after viewing the Record of Marriage for Howard Grover Jameson dated October 1, 1906, wouldn't you also have to agree that indeed he had just 1 wife?? If so, would you kindly remove the other entry of "Vivien" off from Howards' profile as I believe indeed he had just 1 wife, Alice Lucy Bellevue. Accuracy is VERY IMPORTANT to me and my research and what I enter online!!

I have had a couple of people from here go to the Cemetery with NO luck in finding her marker but know where she is located because of the paperwork I copied back in 2009 from the Cemetery Office when I was there. More than likely IF there is a stone ,,,, it probably sank into the ground over the years.

was married to Alice dated October 1, 1906 in Windham, Rockingham, NH.
Would you kindly remove your memorial for Ella Newcomb Kelley. I have had her on FindAGrave since March 28, 2009 and her Memorial #35274152 in which the one you added would be a duplicate. Enclosed in her Memorial also you will find her stonemarker.
