I began researching my family name in 1972 and except for various periods have been compiling data on several branches of my and my wife's families. I have traced my family name back to mid 12th century. This site has helped me find and verify information on some of my relatives. As a contributor I hope I can assist others in finding their relatives.

Thanks
Thanks for the reply Paul... I was going to attempt a cemetery visit across Missouri on my vacation to California, but couldn't get it worked out. I hope to hear more on your trip.

Mariam Strong Cornett
Mariam Strong Cornett's daughter Nancy Jane Cornett married my G-G Grandfather William Henry Gragg around December of 1863 in Henry County Missouri (see: http://www.findagrave.com/cgi-bin/fg.cgi?page=gr&GRid=67843339 )and according to "Gragg Descent" (by George Robert Gragg, 1978, pp 83 (i))they "Moved to Crowder, Ok."...So they ended up in your neck of the woods...
Haskell County, Oklahoma... McCurtain I believe!

Therefore "Robert T and Mariam Strong Cornett are my maternal Great-Great Grandparents" as well! :)

Also, you'll find a lot of Cornett's in the "Lost Creek Cemetery", "Parker-Gregg Cemetery", "Grant Cemetery", and "Byler Cemetery", all in Creighton, Cass County, Missouri.

And, by the way, Our Gragg's started out as "Gregg" When John Gregg came to America, with his sons (from Northern Ireland, as Scot's Immigrants) circa the 1740's. The name got switched around within the first twenty years in America, and just stuck! But, none of that matters, as the original name was MacGregor anyway.

Mariam Strong Cornett
Sorry Paul,

I didn't take the picture of the cemetery where Mariam Strong Cornett and Robert T Cornett are interred. There was no photo at either site, so I took the one from the cemetery site, and put it on their sites.

The cemetery (Lost Creek) is in Creighton, Cass County. Missouri... I am in Pennsylvania, so the chances that I can get there anytime soon, are pretty slim. I am hoping, sometime in the near future, to go down to that area and hit about three or four Gragg cemeteries for pictures, thatare relativly near to each other; but I'm not sure yet when that will be.
