This site helps preserve our family histories and information that can fade with time from our cemeteries. I'm glad to be able to contribute and want to thank all of you who have contributed to this wonderful resource.|
My husband deserves many thanks for driving me to cemeteries or stopping at ones we see along the road as we travel. He helps me watch where I step and for things that crawl. He has walked many of these cemeteries with me or patiently sat waiting for me.
My Great-Uncle Will walked the cemetery in Cherokee, Texas with me when I was in grade school and told me about some of the people buried there. I wish I had been old enough to realize how important that information was. He was from the time when the men in the community dug the grave for someone for free and it showed love, honor, and respect.
At that same time in my life my Grandmother told me not to step on the graves as a way to show respect. She was also an example of love and respect in her actions as I watched her clear the weeds from my Grandfather's grave by chopping them with a hoe.

Looks like we are cousins! Elizabeth Decker is my 3x great grandmother. I paid respects at her grave yesterday and took the photo I sent in for you to add to the memorial page.

Charles A. May, Jr. 84890064 was not married to Alma Geneva Freeman Johnson.
She was married to Charles Frederick William May # 167535615. I set this tombstone this afternoon. If you can unlink Charles A, from Alma Geneva I will link Charles F. W. to Alma Geneva.
Thanks for your help,

What an interesting headstone. What can you tell me about it?

Charles May #84890064. His step-son, Bill Johnson and I have been unable to locate the Military Marker.
Is it beside his first wife close to his parents or where?
Bill thought it was close to his mother, Geneva Johnson May.
Any help will be appreciated,

I wished to attach Josephine Estell Robbins Page to her father's memorial. I did attach it on yours. However, there is another memorial for him with a different death date. #105467911. Do you happen to know which is the correct memorial? I also contacted the manager of the other memorial. Are they two different RR Robbins, or does one need to be eliminated? I simply wish to know which father memorial to attach to Josephine's. Thanks so.

Thank you for adding a photo of my mother's headstone. I suspect that we are cousins due to your mention of Cherokee, and if the F stands for Frazier.
I live in New Mexico, and rarely get to TX so it is comforting to log in and "visit" my mother.

Thank you for alerting me to the fact that I had put the wrong photo on Woodrow Sr's memorial. I have removed it.
|Paula Byles||Billy Marvin Johnson|
I am researching the Johnson name for a recent addition to my family. For Billy Marvin Johnson on this site Porter Cornelius is listed as his father, however looking at his birth and death records, his fathers name was William Marvin Johnson. I know that Porter Cornelius would have been his step father by looking at the 1930 and 1940 census. Any idea what happened to his biological father or know of anyone who might? His father would have been born about 1903 in Marlin Tx and was a rancher per Billy's birth cert. Any help will be greatly appreciated.
Thank you, Paula
