Have been doing genealogy for many years, and photographing tombstones for at least 20. Now that photos are digital, it makes it all the easier to share them.
You are welcome to use my photos in your own genealogy, but please don't turn around and charge anyone for them. They're posted here because I want them free and readily available to all.
Many of the photos I have taken are for people not related to me in any way (other than merely "the family of mankind"). If someone is closely related to you and you would like to manage their memorial, don't hesitate to ask.
RE: Marion Houghton You have her memorial. I found her gravestone and put it on your memorial. I was telling you she had another name thrown in the mix. Go to her memorial and look at the headstone. Mendocino is such lovely country. I enjoyed my stay there and love to walk through graveyards and take photos. Linda
RE: William J. Baird Jr./Child Baird Ok...Per Sherry at the Cave Hill office the grave "William J. Baird Jr. 1901-1901" in "most likely" the son of the owner William J. Baird. She said that the notation on the Cave Hill web site listing is sometimes confusing. So since we can see the headstone and it correlates with the information below,I feel sure that this is the child that is referred to in the notation below. And he is indeed in Grave 5 and his father is in Grave 8.
Copied and pasted from their grave listing:( the date is the date of burial) WILLIAM J. CHILD OF BAIRD 06/05/1901 SECTION P Lot: 677- Grave: 5
WILLIAM J. BAIRD 08/22/1923 Section P Lot: 677- Grave: 8
I will ask that the other entry be removed since we have been angsting over this. So happy to meet someone who is an ATD person!! Pat
RE: William J. Baird Jr./Child Baird Hi Kay, Take a look at the memorial 112217693. This is the child of William James Baird the owner of this lot. I have been out there twice to make sure there wasn't another grave I missed since grave 3 in this lot is not occupied. I am assuming it was for a famous daughter who died in Rhode Island and is buried there with her last husband. So I thought I would make sure about this little one also. I will call Cave Hill tomorrow and ask for further verification and let you know.
I use the Cave Hill ledger, thank goodness they have it, only for verification. I would rather be in the cemeteries and go from there. This is a very large family and I have gotten caught up in them. I started with Emma Dierking, a relative of my husband 3 x removed.
Anyway, I will ask Cathea if she would mind removing her posting...we have been emailing about this crowd too. Let me know what you think... phb
William J. Baird Jr./Child Baird Kay, I have discovered that there are 2 memorials for this child. The first one,100674152, was entered in 2012 and yours in 2013. How is this handled?? I have photos of the grave and those of the family that I want to add. They are distantly related to my husband. Looking forward to hearing from you.
RE: PA to CA transplant? Hi Kay, Sorry, I'm not related to the Robinson or Breckenridge families, but I'll be your "shirt-tail" cousin if you like. ^_^
Since I've gone just about as far as I can on my family lines (which you can see on my profile page), I'm now paying it forward by researching and making memorials for Military Veterans from Erie, Crawford, & Warren Counties.
PA & Calif. Hi Kay, Just curious..... I noticed that most of your photos were taken in PA and the Los Angeles, CA area (with a few other states sprinkled in). Are you a Pennsylvania to California "transplant"? ^_^
Are you at all related to Fred King, who was a long time heavy contributor in Erie County, Pa?
Cheers, Rich (A "transplant" from North East, Erie County to Las Vegas, NV.)
