I have been researching my various lines for about 20 years now. |
My Direct lines are:
Levack, Choquette, Long, & Thompson in MA and CT
Ault, Vinson, Brackett in TN and the Carolinas
Geiger, Rettew, Smith, Hart, & Buck in PA
I do not add many non-family members, but if I have added a memorial for a family member of yours (and it is someone that I am not related to), and you would like to manage the site, let me know and I will be happy to transfer it to you :-)
I have no need to collect memorials - if you are related in any way and I am not, you are welcome to them!!
Please feel free to use any of the pictures that I have posted.

I am sorry I do not remember. I looked at the Ellen Sullivan's posted but none of them had stones that matched John to indicate they were next to his.

I have transferred him to you.
Feel free to use the photos. I just ask for simple credit as the source.
I still have the photos. Names I ran across in the plot were for George G. Vinson, Margie G. Vinson, Lewis Vinson, Jack Edward Vinson, Nancy Ann Brackett Vinson, and Robert Hasson Vinson. Judith Ann Johnson was buried nearby. Not sure if there were anymore Johnsons, or possibly related family with different last names in the area. With exception of George the grave markers were normal sized. George had a small marker placed above his mother Margie's grave marker.
There are other cemeteries in Lenoir City. I have run across several photo requests that were in the incorrect cemetery. A lot of confusion between Lenoir City Cemetery and Lakeview which is a few miles away.

|Brian||RE: George G Vinson Photo|
You're welcome for the pictures. Looks like there are 6 burials around the Vinson plot stone with 3 burials on each side. I think George was probably cremated and his remains were buried on top of his mother's grave since the area he was at appeared to have only 2 available spaces. I took photos of all the markers but discovered when I got home there were already photos posted for the other 5 on Find a Grave. However George's small grave marker was covered over and took a little searching to find it. I was kicking the ground with my shoe when it uncovered a tiny area of the marker, and had to remove grass and dirt to actually see it before I could take a picture.

I am not related. Looking at the information on ancestry.com. His social security card was issued while he was living in North Carolina. 1910 Census living with mother Nancy and siblings. 1920 Census living with mother Nancy and siblings. 1930 census married to Thelma. Tenn marriages states he married Thelma 16 Apr 1927 in Loundon Co, Tenn. 1940 Census married to Thelma in North Carolina. His WWII draft registration gives his wife's name as Thelma. WWII draft registration also gives the date on the tombstone as his birthdate and born in Loundon Co, Tenn. I do not know why he moved to Lewis Co, KY. Portsmouth is the hospital that they go to since there is not one in Lewis Co. I do not find any other Jesse Vinson on ancestry that was born that date in Tenn and moved to NC and married to Thelma. I entered his name on findagrave from cemetery listing.

I believe that I sampled a small number of markers in this section of Greenwood to see if memorials had already been created. I usually take photos of entire rows. But since I was sampling, I'm not sure. I looked at my photos and I can tell you that on one side was a marker for Howard B and Betty T Miller. On the other side was a marker for Loren L Sharp. About 5 markers away was one other Thomas: Margaret P Thomas (b 1918 d 2001).
I will revisit that section and see if I can find more Taylors in that section next time I go over to the cemetery if that would help you.
