I got started helping Find A Grave because I was so touched by the photos that someone took of some of my ancestors headstones, that I decided to pay it forward.

Sunday afternoons makes a great time for me to stroll through a cemetery while I pray and take pictures for your requests and some random pictures too!

I try to do my best at taking pictures of the whole family group so you will know just what the grave site looks like where they are buried.

Four years ago I decided that I would write the history of the Courtland Township in Nicollet County, Minnesota where I live. It had not been done and I thought it would be fun to do. Little did I know that it would turn out to be three years before I would get it published, and it would make so many people so happy! The book is entitled Courtland the early years: 1855 - 1910. Besides chapters on the blizzards, grasshopper plague, the military record of the men who enlisted, schools, churches, pioneer stories, and a few more subjects, I had decided to name every person who moved here or was born here until about 1900. There are 325 different surnames, and more than 200 pictures many of which are of the pioneers.

The book can be obtained from me, or from the Brown County and Nicollet County Historical Societies. It is $19.95 plus shipping, and sales tax if in Minnesota.

RE: Mary Didemea Maxwell
You are very welcome. I am going to try and get a better image. They recently cut a tree down by the 2 Maxwell markers and that is why they look so bad with tree sap dripping on them for so many years.

Charles Leon Maxwell and Minnie Maxwell
I have transferred Minnie Maxwell to you. I think memorials should be with family members if they are also contributors. I have designated the memorial for Charles Leon Maxwell in Cold Springs Cemetery which is joint with Minnie Maxwell as a centograph and noted a link to his memorial at Westview Cemetery.

Hey Sheila...I see that Larkin died in Ohio. Do you happen to know what happened and why he was up there?

RE: Charles & Mary Ruth Maxwell
My pleasure. You may want to know that the mausoleum is one of the largest ones in the Southeast. It's quite beautiful architecture on the outside and has a chapel on the inside.

I did not see a poem.

Charles Maxwell at Westview
I see your request for a photo on findagrave for Westview Cemetery. I am familiar with that cemetery and would be happy to look for you. Would you please call the cemetery office at 404-755-6611 to find out the section and lot numbers for your request? The office is reluctant to give me that information and in fact has threatened to charge me for it. They do however give it easily to relatives. The cemetery is massive and that section/lot information will help me narrow the search.

Could you please edit the date of death for Cynthia. She died in 1895 instead of 1926 and her middle name is Mollessie and not Melissa. This is my husbands family and the memorial number is; 23764162 5 Thank you so much.,

RE: Additional Info for Leonard Diegnau
Thank you! Glad to hear I wasn't the only one that didn't know about the edit tab. I was wondering how that new feature was working. I didn't like not getting an email copied to me to track open items. Nice to have a log of it, but would be better if we got an email notifying us that we had pending items. Hopefully they will add that soon. Thanks again for the quick updates and all the other work you've done on Find A Grave! Have a great day!
