I had dabbled with my family tree for many years but only got serious in 2009 when I was recuperating from a home accident. There are such powerful tools and databases available to facilitate genealogical research, and this website has become one of the essential sites for me. I know from personal experience how important finding the grave of a long-lost loved can be and I am pleased to volunteer my time to this project in the Morgan County, Georgia, and surrounding areas.|

Hi Bill. You may want to remove your picture from this memorial. Part of the name is cut off.

The plot picture you have on this memorial isn't the correct picture. It is a picture of the Atkinson plot just across the lane.

No, I'm sorry to say that I haven't had the time to follow up on this and I'm not sure when my schedule will free up. Unfortunately, the other volunteer who did this kind of look up moved to Texas. I'll leave it on my to-do list, but I'm not sure when I'll get to it, especially with the holidays upon us. My apologies.

Gravestone has been repaired. See picture.
By the way, if you look at the photos I took, there are two grave markers - one specifically for the elder Thomas Carr and then a granite stone that simply says Carr. It could be that both were installed for the same person, but the headstones definitely span 2 burial plots. I heard that there is an older cemetery plot map at the local headstone company that has names filled in the burial plots. I'll try to get by there soon and see if there is more information about who is buried in the space with the granite headstone.

I received your photo request today. I went to Greenmount Cemetery and found a grave for a T. E. Carr. The grave marker says 1863-1911. So I looked in the local mortuary records and there is a record for a Thomas E. Carr who died 14 Feb 1911 and was 52 years old (that would be approx. 1859 birth year). The memorial says 1873 birth year. Do you think this is the same person? If so, I'll post the photos.
