Bio and Links
Bio Photo I am a member of Daughters of the American Revolution, the Jamestowne Society, Descendants of the Signers of the Declaration of Independence, the National Huguenot Society, and the Colonial Dames of the 17th Century. I just love researching family histories. I taught Jr. High English in the public schools for fourteen years. I was an Elementary Counselor and a librarian for fifteen years.

I would love your contributions to the pages I've added. I especially want pictures of the people I have listed here. I am taking pictures of all the tombstones in my area in order to preserve family histories for future generations, especially those who wish to join DAR and other societies. I want to honor these people and truly wish for them to be "Gone but Not Forgotten." I want to create a page for each person with pictures and biographical information. My DAR webpage is at

Leonard K. Brooks
Thanks a bunch for the transfer. I can add some more info for him now . . . but certainly will not remove what is already posted about his Civil War service. :)

Leonard K. Brooks
I believe this Leonard K. Brooks to be my ancestor and am wondering if you are related or at least have any further info on him. His Find A Grave number is 112802470. If not related in any way, would you consider of transfer. Thanks much.

Swaim Families.....
Linda, just a short note to thank you for all the wonderful info you've posted on various Swaim family memorials! I'm a direct descendant of Thys Barentsen Swaim (1621-1682) and am deeply appreciative of your work on this family. I guess you & I are related somewhere down the line:)

wife of Thomas Besson

For the above page, the first wife of Thomas Besson, the one he transported into MD in 1649 is named Ann, not Hester Talbot Besson Sutton. Please see Volume 2 of the source you cite "First Families of Anne Arundel County, Maryland" by Donna Valley Russell.

There were MANY errors in her first volume regarding this family, which I, and others brought to her attention, which I believe she corrected most of in Volume 2.

Hester [surname unknown, but NOT Talbot] was Thomas Besson's second wife. The children you have listed are children of his first wife Ann. Thomas Besson also had children by his second wife.

Please see my page and/or contact me if you have questions about any of the information.

RE: Thomas Lee Sawyer
Leonard is buried in Bunker Hill, Illinois and Enola is buried in Shipman, Illinois. Sorry I don't have any more information than that.

Thomas Lee Sawyer
I am Uncle Tom's great niece and can guarantee that he is the son of Leonard Donald Sawyer and Enola Harris(maiden name)Sawyer Hall. They are not currently in this system that I could find.

Re: Susan Ellen York Gann Bio
Thank you for adding the bio to Susan Ellen York Gann's Find a Grave for Williams Cemetery in Licking, MO as her mother Letha L Moore Dorman Busby was my grandmother's sister and it was helpful in knocking down some brick walls for me. Again, Thank you very much!
