Bio and Links
Bio Photo In the last few years, I have been creating memorials for my family, as I discover where they are buried. This is still an on going project.

Find a Grave has implemented a new way to submit Edits! Unfortunately, there are far too many members for Find a Grave to notify everyone via email, so it's up to us to get the word out. If every member posts this message (or similar) in their profile, hopefully we can help spread the word.

To suggest a correction (SAC) click on the edit tab of the memorial that needs to be corrected. Then click on the link which best describes where your edit should occur. Enter your correction, when you're done, click submit edit. Your request will be sent to the manager of the memorial and will appear in the managers' profile under the Edits tab.

Managers will no longer receive emails. They must go directly to their profile page and click on the Edits tab. Managers can approve, deny or ignore, suggested corrections. It's quick and easy!

The exception:
Requesting a transfer other corrections are still handled the same way. Click on "suggest any other correction or addition," type your message and press "send this message." The manager of the memorial will receive an email.

Recently (Aug 2011), I transcribed The Bay City IOOF Cemetery. I have created a spreadsheet of this Cemetery, taken photos of all of the headstones and put this information on FindaGrave. I have tried to research something about the person and link them with their family members.

I have completed photographing all of the headstones at the Fairview Pioneer Cemetery. I have also received from the Tillamook Pioneer Museum a listing of all of the graves that are in This Cemetery, along with a map. It is quite a small cemetery and it is quite overgrown, there are not many headstones left that are readable.

My next goal is to transcribe the cemetery at the Sunset Heights Memorial Gardens. Thank you to everyone who helps me out on this journey.

RE: Memorial# 114167126 Ruth Elizabeth Parsons Patterson
Okay, the transfer is done. Please note that the date of her death, in the Oregon Death Index was the 13th of December, and your information had it as the 12th. I changed it to the 13th on the memorial.

Memorial# 114167126 Ruth Elizabeth Parsons Patterson
Are you a member of Ruth's family, and if so, what is your relationship? If you are related to her, would you like me to transfer her memorial page to you so you can maintain the page?

Yes, her first husband was a Bolster, her second was a Stoldt.

Thank you.

I don't know what I was thinking! I have a very liberal transfer policy about transferring my mow rowing memorials to other interested site members, and should've just sent those to you in the first place to edit yourself.

James Stephenson Gray
Greetings, I thought you would connect him to his parents.

Please check your material on Early Oregon's. It lists the wrong spelling for her maiden name. Please, add their date of marriage. I have been holding onto this record for a couple of years forgetting to ask for corrections.
There are other postings on your site for James Gray, you will see that his name appears several times. Will you be able to post the location of their interment? It would appear that he was a Capt. in the Oregon Calvary as that is on his marker..
Margaret Jane Scovell and James Stephenson Gray -- their marriage license is dated 10 April 1867 and they were married at the Scovell home in Linn County, with her parents and family as witnesses. The new couple continued living in Linn County until sometime after 1880, when they all moved to Tillamook County and their remains are found in the Scovell Family Cemetery at Nehalem, Tillamook County, Oregon. Her husband and parents are all interred there.
I hope this information is an encouragement to your people that try so hard to give out the correct information. They do a great job and I am so thankful to each of them.
Sincerely, Martin Burrell
P.S. James S Gray's has two of his parents interred in Union Point Cemetery, Brownsville, Linn, Oregon. His birth mother is interred in Hopewell Cemetery, Morning Sun, Prebe Co., Ohio.
