I have been doing ancestral research for about 30 years. By being involved in searching records and information, I have made many new friends (fellow researchers) and met family members who have become personal friends. This is a great (and addictive) hobby that had opened the lives of my antecedents and their migration across North America from the European Continent for me. Just finding names is not the goal for me. I want to know how they made their living, what the times were like, and just get to know the individuals as personally as I can. By combining history, country, and economics, it is easier to create an interesting even though incomplete canvas of the journey of one's life. Sometimes I only have a name, but I never stop seeking a clue here and there. Sometimes my efforts are rewarded but more often, the secrets are still floating in the hazy gauze of time.

I am a retired executive and newspaper correspondent retiring from director of a senior citizens center. I retired from the American Red Cross working in health, safety, service to military families, and disaster as volunteer, paid staff, instructor and instructor trainer.

The pictures that I take for Find A Grave may be used in your research and transfered at will. I hope that they help you in your endeavors.

Most all photos I take in Englewood Cemetery in Slaton, Texas will have life dates, burial date, and location of grave if you click on the pictures.

RE: Stella Shelton and Walker P. Shelton photos
Good to know. I am related to Walker -- this further confirms that he and Stella were, indeed, married.

I have been unable to find a marriage certificate -- and his obituary simply said he was survived by -- his wife......

So -- these pictures have made all the difference for us! Thank you again! And if you ever need anything shot in the DFW area -- please let me know!

RE: Selma Stephens
I looked into the info I have on Zelma Crumbley and Clarence Stephens. They had no children so I have not looked into the Stephens family. Sorry but another roadblock.

RE: Selma Stephens

Hi, I don't think I can be of much help here. The Stephens are in my tree through marrige. Nancy Lucinda Stephens was the mother-in-law of my great uncle on the Logan side. Sorry I could not offer any info and good luck in your search.

PS. I do not have a pic of cousin Crumbley's headstone, wish I did.

George A Talbot

Thank you so very much for finding and sending the pics of the grave of my dad, George Aaron Talbot and my mom, LaVaughn Cooper Talbot. I don't make it to Lubbock very often so it is nice to have the pic. In a strange way, it gives me comfort to see it.

Thank you for your work!
