I will be happy to transfer a memorial to a relative (most of the time, your husband's great aunt may be an issue, or your 6th greatgrandmother who you share with 645 other descendents). I also give you permission to use any photos I take for other geneological purposes, such as posting on ancestry.com, etc. You do not have permission, however, to use it on a duplicate entry that you made.
Just a note on photos: Pictures taken at the National Cemetery were taken during overcast days, which works better with my camera. Also, if you want to see a larger picture, click on the Photos tab at the memorial and you can read the enlarged one.
As another side note about photos, I took many photos straight on and found my reflection in many of them. I had to delete those and retake them. This is true for black, grey and sometimes red stones. That is why I take photos from an angle. Also, the pictures uploaded have to be 750 KB or less (600 x 800), so they are small. I don't clean the stones.

Can I add an obituary to my interment listing?
You should not copy obituary notices from newspapers to an individual's memorial record unless you have permission from the newspaper to do so or you are the author of the obituary. Some obituaries that were published in 1922 or earlier are now in the public domain. In general, obituaries in newspapers are submitted by the family with assistance from the funeral home. If the obituary is added to the memorial record, it should list the newspaper and date the obit was printed for example "Published in the Hattiesburg American, Hattiesburg, Mississippi, Internet Edition, April 11, 2007". Please do not include the names of living or surviving relatives in the biography, unless you have their permission. If you do not have permission to copy an obituary to a memorial, you may put a note stating the name of the newspaper and the date the obituary was published.
Please do NOT add photographs from obituary notices (unless you, personally took the photo), as they are protected by copyright law. Find A Grave reserves the right to remove obituary notices and photographs from memorial records. Similarly, you may NOT scan an obituary and add it as a photograph to a memorial record.
Obituaries for "famous" individuals are usually written by newspaper staff and can not be posted to Find A Grave as the newspaper company owns that copyright.
Please do not include website addresses that may be listed in the obituary as they usually expire within a year after the obituary is printed.

Thanks for letting me know that my memorial was a duplicate. I try to check for those things. I created that memorial just a couple months after the original in 2005 and you were the first person to notice it! Mine is gone now and I uploaded my photo to the earlier posting. Thanks again!

About Kenneth J McDonald I was wondering if you added his memorial for a family member of his? This is person I'm getting records for on ancestry. his parents Malcolm McDonald and Florence Stacy From Saint Lawrence county, ny. I was really just wondering if it was for his family if you had contact with them? I'm looking for info about my family tree Kenneth's father Malcolm(died 1922 potsdam,ny) he was my great grandfather's brother. So Kenneth was my great grandfather's nephew and just hoping to find any family info. Thank you Brian McDonald

Would you be willing to transfer this memorial to me, or accept written edits? I'd like to link siblings Miles (Morrisvile), Lewis (St. Andrews in Yardley), and Cortland (Tullytown). I'm not a direct relative, but am doing this on behalf of by sister-in-law, who is a direct descendant of Cortland Lynn.
