Thank YOU. I had it wrong in my own notes until today when I was prompted to look more closely.

RE: Hyde Cemetery
Thank you for the info.! It looks like there is a little pull off area from 104A that says fishing & boating access just east of the property. Would that be the best place to park?

Hyde Cemetery
I am planning a trip back east & would like to go to the Hyde Cemetery in East Georgia, Franklin, Vermont- I have several relatives buried there. I saw that you've added at least one picture of a headstone from the nearby Hope Cemetery there just a mile down the road. From trying to locate the cemetery on the map it looks like it might be on private land. Do you know if there is public access to this cemetery at all? Or if it is hard to find? Or do you know the area/land owners?
Thanks for any help!

You're very welcome. I am glad that I was able to find his headstone. You were instrumental in helping me locate it.

Georgia Plain Cemetery
It's a minor point but one that's made all the time. Officially it is Georgia Plain not Plains. It is the Georgia Plain Baptist Church and the Georgia Plain Cemetery in Georgia Plain, Georgia VT. I was pastor in nearby St. Albans for 16 years and we were always aware that the tendency is to add the "s".

3 Boston area artists were hired to
illustrate "Life on the Mississippi" written
by Samuel Clemens. One of those artists was
Augustus B Shute.

I did notice the census and Death record for
Augustus. I told myself that I should say
something about this and never did!
Ken Clark, who requested the photo and sent
you an edit about his birth said this:
My cousin, Carro Clark, published books in Boston in the first decade of the twentieth century. Augustus B. Shute, the artist, drew for two of the books. He was a very successful and highly respected artist when he lived down in Brookline, MA. He illustrated the 1892 re-release of Moby Dick and also drew for Mark Twain's 1883 Life on the Mississippi. He was the real deal. It's always so interesting to see the stories behind the graves. Thanks for this info.

All the best,
