Re: Reunion and website
I did not attend the reunion at Providence Church but I did have an opportunity to spend some time browsing the website. Well done and interesting!
It seems that I have some "goodlookin" kin folks.
I'll try to keep up with the website so perhaps I can meet you all the next time. Looking forward to it.

Have a good weekend.

RE: Jonathan Granberry
I'll have to think about what kind of cousins we are and how many times removed, but it's nice to meet you, finally.

In reading again my first message to you, I have discovered a typing error. The line for Service should read: PVT CAPT J NEIL'S CO GA MIL

I am sorry for the confusion.

Have a good afternoon.

Carl,
As I sometimes do, I hit the enter key too quickly. Here's the remainder of information from the pension application:
Residence of Soldier: 1851 1855 PERRY CO MISS
Residence of Widow:
1872 PERRY CO (PO WILLIAMSBURG COVINGTON CO) MISS
1878 PERRY CO (PO MONROE) MISS
Maiden Name of Widow: NANCY TRAVIS
Marriage of Soldier and Widow:
NOV 16 1815 WARREN CO GA
Death of Soldier: DEC 14 1867 PERRY CO MISS
Death of Widow:
SEPT 9 1883 HATTIESBURG FORREST CO MISS

That is all the information, but here is what I know. Forrest County did not exist in 1883, but it was formed from Perry County in 1906; therefore, I am led to believe the application was submitted after 1906. Allen Richmond Granberry and his second wife, Mary, were living with Allen's sister, Mary Granberry Carter, in 1900 in the area around Providence and residence was in Perry County. By the 1910 census his sister was deceased and his wife was widowed but the same residence was in Forrest County. Perhaps it was Allen who applied for pension before his dearth, but I'm just speculating.

Hope you will find this useful for Nancy Travis Granberry's exact date of death, too.

Have a great day.

Carl,
Jonathan and Nancy Travis Granberry are my ggg-grandparents. I was researching them this morning and found a digital copy of United States War 1812 Index of Pension Application Files. The copy does not show the name the person who applied for the pension, but you may find the information interesting, as I did. You may find it useful for his biography. Here's what I found:
Soldier: GRANBERRY, JONATHAN
Widow: GRANBERRY, NANCY
Service: PVT CAPT J O'EIL'S CO GA MIL
Enlisted: SEPT 26 1814
Discharged: MCH 21 1815

Residence of Soldier: 1851 1855

Hi, Carl, I hope this message finds you in good health and good spirits as the Thanksgiving holiday approaches.

I wanted to let you know I have added a couple of interesting photos to the memorial. You may want to juggle the order of the pictures to leave them more to your liking.

Best wishes,

Sonya

spur cemetery
I am posting headstones from the Spur Cemetery.
The gate photo you took shows up. Is it okay to let it show on all of the ones I add? Plan on adding quite a few over the next few months.
(Example Ruth Bonds that I just posted).

RE: Roberts Family
No, I am not from there. My mother's family was. Josephine Roberts grew up there and was best friends with Alice Bean. Harmon Roberts, her father was a rancher with the Gage's. Dolly Roberts was his wife. I have visited there a long time ago when Alice was still Postmaster. Harmon was born in the 1880's and died in 1965. Josephine (my mother) moved to Ohio in the late 30's.

It would be much appreciated for any information you could find.

Thank you very much.
