Bio and Links
Bio Photo Because of fires, floods and loss, I started photographing all the markers in Jackson Co Michigan in Nov 2006. We've discovered the 1927 DAR WPA cemetery transcription project didn't have anyone actually walk any of the county cemeteries. They obtained the information from cemetery records, church records and neighbors. Fortunately for all of us this included records of those graves with no markers. Most of the early cemetery records have perished along with some of the cemeteries. Hopefully, we will be able to provide info for descendants of the early/current residents of Jackson County Michigan. By using census, marriage, death and local history information we try to make our entries as complete as possible. Email with info on your ancestors and we'll add them to any of our records. We'll be happy to help you in your search.

Currently, I'm working on adding maiden names to as many memorials as possible.

As of 22 Aug 2009 Jackson Co FAG volunteers have 66,501 burials recorded, by Jan 2010 72,323 burials and by Jan 2013 101,483 burials. Many of the cemeteries have been completed with pics.

Please request edits, corrections & transfers thru the SAC tab (edit tab on the memorial page) and not here on the home page. Remember to check the new "edit" tab on your own homepage to see the corrections/additions sent to you.

Thanks to all those FAGer's who have trusted me to take care of their memorials and have transferred their memorials over to me while they take a leave from findagrave.

RE: Brewer family Jackson Michigan
Hi Deb,
Holy Smokes! I just realized that my inclination to follow my cousin's research on some of this has totally taken me down a wrong road. I'd been looking at Noah and Eunice Langdon being the parents of Mary Emily, as I found the record of them having a daughter named Mary Emily born on 7 Nov 1831.

Being as the Mary at Highland Cemetery passed on Dec 29, 1859 and the headstone says she was 33 years 3 mos and 18 days, that would have put her being born 11 Aug 1826. I have to believe they're husband and wife as they're the only Brewer's of my clan buried there at Highland, but I'm going to contact Highland to see what cemetery records may remain on file there.

I'm just now going down the road of researching Horace and Sarah Langdon. I apologize for the confusion - I'm chalking this up as one of my "baby steps" in learning to trust...but verify.

Thanks again,
Joe

I believe Lawrence (Larry) Hagyard is an uncle of mine, previously married to a Genivieve (Jean) Karty Hagyard and lived in Detroit until her death. Any information would be appreciated. Thanks. Lee Hallett (goldpan33@yahoo.com).

Erhardt Koch
Hi Deb,
I am working on putting our family history on familysearch.com. I noticed that you have a copy of the death certificate and gravemarker for Erhardt Koch(Find A Grave Memorial# 19863217). May I copy these for use on Family Search please? I will be happy to give you credit. Also, you may also have pictures or documents for some of his relatives. May I use those also? Thanks, Karen

re Charles Masten
Hi deb,
I can ask admin for a merge or you can put the photo on mine and delete yours.
Yes I have had similar problems with some records here too with misspellings etc.
Pretty hard sometimes not to dupe because I have duped entries after searching to see if they are already listed and came up with nothing.

Not to mention also the name changes of my Willy (Wille, Wiley Willey)side and also the Masten surname was listed under different spellings.

If you ever come across the possible wife of charles perhaps you could let me know. I have found nothing so far.

Great that you are trying to sort things out with the city records. A lot of people will thank you I am sure.
Thank you for contacting me.
