RE: 3693144Murray P Brush
Thanks, I was pretty sure that he had to be his son, as he was not in plain view when I was at school. It is good to know where to find my late headmaster.

Dr Murray P. Brush was the headmaster of my high school in 1946-1948 and of the Tome School before WWII wnhen it was taken over by the Navy as the site of the Cainbridge Naval Recruit Training Center. Is this memorial he, ot his son? Dr. Brush seemed pretty ancient when I knew him, like one of my grandfather's (born 1873) generation.

RE: George and Lurannah Matteson death dates

Lucinda Hatch
They have the same birth year, not same birth date. Not that uncommon among married couples. They do have the same death date. It could have been from a disease contracted at the same time, or a tragic accident involving them both. I'll change it if you find better information

RE: Julia King Mount Hope Cemetery Lapeer
Hello Jonathan - I was looking up plot nos. for Mt. Hope Cemetery in Lapeer today so I checked on the Matteson family name. I only discovered a Ruth Matteson and added her profile. There is already a profile for Norman Matteson. No other Matteson's @ Mt. Hope. I also spent several hours walking & photographing and didn't come across any Matteson's. Txs for your note so I could help.

RE: Julia King Mount Hope Cemetery Lapeer
Hi Jonathan, Yes, these photos really turned out well, & it is my favorite time of year to take photos in the cemeteries with the fall colors. I'm so glad I found this special lady for you. I take hundreds of photos at a time & load them all winter. Mt. Hope Cemetery in Lapeer is 40 acres & 26,000 burials. I live over an hour away & take a day trip to visit when the weather is great. The best thing for you to do is to call the City of Lapeer offices as a family member and ask for any Matteson family burials & get the plot nos. Then create profiles & request photos. I'll put the Matteson name in my radar when I visit again, but the cemetery is hugh so I'll need section/plot nos. Here is the website link to call:

Anna (Tuthill) Symmes gravestone photo
May I have your permission to download the photo of the gravestone of Anna (Tuthill) Symmes (Memorial# 12937970)?
I would like to upload it into my Ancestry family tree.
Thank you for your consideration.

Milo P.Ames
I transferred Milo to you. I found his grandparents but could not find his parents. I didn't want to connect him to the wrong parents.
I am primarily researching Huntington, which married Ames.

RE: Sanford Hewitt Farm Cemetery
To reiterate: It is on private property, as we have both noted.

Given that:

Sanford Hewitt Farm Cemetery is on an unoccupied farm off of Route 2, Taconic Trail, heading east, and at the end of Leah's Road... passed last bldgs on left(dirt road)

Confirmed this with my niece Mary who was with me when the pics were taken ... we both found the cemetery on a satellite photo today, just a few moments ago, in fact.

We received directions at the Petersburg, NY Town Hall .. though the actual address is listed as Berlin, NY and I have been informed by locals that it is, in fact, located in Berlin, (which was created out of Petersburg in 1806 -- two years after John Greene and family arrived there.)

By the way, Did you know, that there is a Mattison Hollow Road in Cherry Plain, just below Berlin, NY ? Just saw it on a map, attempting to more precisely locate the Sanford Hewitt Cemetery.
