If you are related to someone I have entered I will gladly allow you to edit it or transfer it to you if you want to substantially improve it. |
If we are both related to the person, I would be interested in exchanging information so we can make the memorial as reflective of the person as possible.
If I have taken a photo, I may be able to send you a higher resolution photo than was allowed on FindAGrave.
I have developed an interest in out of the way cemeteries and old, hard to read monuments. I find many are children and their gravestones may be the only information that exists regarding their short lives. I also take photos of stones that no longer contain information or perhaps never did. Someone thought enough of the people interred to mark their graves though circumstance prevented them from including any information on them or neglect or inferior materials prevented information from lasting.
You might consider this technique for photographing old hard to read monuments that removes the need for "controversial" enhancing:
Be kind, remember; Life is but a dance over graves...

|William Brackett||Isaac Brackett|
Thank you for posting the photo of the marker for Isaac Brackett in the Elbridge Rural cemetery. Do you know where this marker is located. I am trying to pin down the plot number and am working with Elbridge Town to get another marker placed next to him for his grandfather. There records do not identify the location of Isaac's grave.
I am not related to her. If you would like to send me a bio, I would be more than happy to add it to her memorial.

|Mark Dixon||RE: Edmund Wheadon|
Good idea about creating a profile for Whedon's wife. Thanks, Harvey.
|Mark Dixon||Edmund Wheadon|
Harvey, Edmund Wheadon (Find A Grave Memorial# 62319710) was my 4th-great grandfather. I've been reading his probate papers, and found an affidavit in which the man who buried him testifies to digging the grave on the south side of his first wife. According to the account, the grave had "a dark colored stone" on it in 1836.
Wheadon's wife, who seems to have died in 1820, is a mystery to us. We're not even sure of her given name, which may have been Lydia or Elizabeth.
I have seen Edmund Wheadon's tombstone, but don't recall that there was one next to it. If you're close by, would you mind checking to see if any trace remains? (Thanks.)

Thank you for setting up this memorial page for my 5 x great grandfather William Cobb. I also appreciate your transferring the memorial to me although I didn't ask. I will take good care of it.

Harvey = am interested in knowing if your Bell relatives moved on from Augusta Co., VA thru Abbeville, SC and on to Greene Co. AL?? I descend from the Greene Co., AL Hendersons who, I think, descend from the Augusta Co. Va. Hendersons. I think there were several marriages within the two families. Thanks for your time.
