Don't forget the words "Thank you".|
They go a LONG way!
Did you know? When you put in an edit and someone ignores it, the memorial will automatically edit itself in 21 days. The only way it won't is if the person declines it.
THE PERFECT GRAVESTONE PICTURE
1) PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE NO dates or your name through the pictures. This is REALLY tacky!
They look awful and are SO unnecessary!! This is about them, not us.
2) No chopped off around the sides. There should be 'outdoors' around all 4 sides. I want to see what the stone looks like! Some stone pics were chopped to just show the name & date.
This looks awful, get the whole stone in the picture!
3) If there's a tall stone with the info on the side, take a picture of the whole stone and then a picture of the writing.
4) The stone picture looks best if it's taken in front of the stone, not at an angle. A trick I use to keep my reflection off the stone: I stand behind another stone and use the zoom on the camera.
5) No 'postage stamp' sized pictures. Set your
camera to take regular sized pictures.
Let's honor our dead as best as we can by taking beautiful pictures. These pictures will most likely be the only ones on the internet for generations to come!

|Dona Horine||OSH Memorial|
Cathy, Phyllis has clarified for me where the item is that I need to photograph and so probably I can get to OSH sooner than she, as I do live in Salem.

Yes, the metal name plates are easily accessible by the public. I was just having a discussion via email a few minutes ago with someone named Dona who works for a state senator. I think she is trying to figure out how to get a photo for you even tho she did not use any names. Does this sound like someone you’ve been in contact with? She was asking about taking pictures of “urns” and I explained the difference between the urns, metal name plates, and the copper cans. The cans and ceramic urns can’t be individually photographed by the public, but anyone who visits the memorial and knows the death year can get a picture of the metal circle. Hopefully now she will be able to get that picture. If not, I might be able to get it before they pull his urn from the wall. When you receive his ashes they typically send the metal circle, too.

Cathy, I would suggest that you contact the person who took the photo for 66064272 and ask where and how she was able to obtain it. OSH admin advises that no one is allowed inside of the Memorial and they have no staff available to find and photograph the urn for you. The only way that happens is if a relative wants to claim and pay for retrieving the cremains, as far as I can find out. Dona
Well, still trying to figure some out. I know my great grandmother Sarah and Henry (top right). I suppose that is her mother and father in front seated. Still researching all the old documents my mother has.
