A cemetery is not a place just to bury the dead. It should be a sacred place for quiet reflection, peace, tranquility, honor, and remembrance. It is a history of people and a perpetual record of yesterday.|
Love begins with a smile...grows with a kiss...and ends with a teardrop....
I will not use chalk, shaving cream, brake fluid or any other potentially harmful methods to enhance the inscriptions. Please do not use these on any photo requests I make, Thank You.
Although FINDAGRAVE can be very useful for genealogy, FINDAGRAVE as the name implies is a grave registration site not a genealogy site. I try to use this as my guide when on this site.
I will NOT add a link to a burial unknown memorial, because I am still actively looking for where the person is actually buried. This site is named Find a GRAVE for a reason.
Please do not request to add a birth date calculated from the gravestone, unless the complete age is known or listed (y/m/d). Dates that do not agree with the gravestone will be placed in the bio section. Thank You.
I Gary Boughton give you permission to use any photo I have taken if you are kind enough to give me credit for the photo, Thank You. (Everyone likes to recognized for their effort) Thanks Again.

Hi Gary, I have corrected the name and asked that the date be corrected on the memorial.
This date came from the transcriptions on the roots site her that was obviously transcribed incorrectly.

Gary- First let me say thank you for all the information you have posted on Find-A-Grave especially when researching in the cemeteries of Woodbury, Connecticut. I recently requested an edit for a spouse link for Emogene Gibson # 45407760 I gave you the wrong information. Could you please remove her name from the memorial you created for Asahel B. Gibson # 45480649 I am very sorry for any inconvenience and thank you again. JIM

Thank you for the transfer; it's very kind of you
I transferred both Loretta and her daughter to you. If you go to Copake to visit the grave, start your search nearest the church, where the oldest graves are. Be forewarned that many of the oldest stones are very dark and hard to read. Happy hunting

Thanks very much for the transfer of Thomas Urmston's memorial!
I was able to learn that he died in 1864 in battle at Peebles Farm in Virginia.
I appreciate your kindness and generosity!!

Dear Gary Boughton -
When I was doing a DAR application for a woman who was a descendant of Enoch Mead and his son Solomon Mead and then His Son Enoch Milan Mead, there were Cemetery records in the Westchester Historical Society and "the Clara Mead Papers", with letters to and from Enoch Milan Mead. None of these people were listed on findagrave but they were all in the cemetery records with alot of information on these people in the Mead Family.
Thank You so much for taking this picture of Enoch Milan Mead's stone. Can you tell me what it says on the stone? I cannot read the whole thing that is written on the stone. If you are going back there, I just put in a request for his father Solomon Mead. I believe his mother Eunice Gilbert Mead is also buried there and his wife Elizabeth. It is amazing that this little cemetery has been missed by people. I am very excited to tell this woman who is 80 years old that her ancestors picture is now on findagrave. Thank you again and it is much appreciated.

Thank you. I didn't put it into words very well. I guess you figured out what I meant. :-) Thank you for taking the time to explain the 2 Wooster Cem.s to me. That helps a lot. Thank you for the work you have put into F-A-G.

|AZ Susi||RE: Your Merge Cemeteries Question|
Ahhh...I didn't know. Sorry. I just noticed that the same people were listed in both cemeteries. I did read your note about burials being moved to a different cemetery. I was trying to locate my ancestor Joseph Starr (b1727) and was a bit confused when I saw duplicates. :-)
