Bio and Links
Bio Photo I use to use chalk on old stones, and was unaware of any damage it may do. I no longer use chalk on stones. If anyone has a listing I placed a stone photo on in which I used chalk, and they want that photo removed, just let me know and I will remove it. As agreed by find a grave, the chalked photo's will be removed as new, readable photo's are placed on the listing.

I just want to let everyone know, I do read all of the messages left on my page, and appreciate hearing that my efforts are not in vain. I am sorry though that I only answer the ones that are a question. I do appreciate all of your messages.

Perry, Emerson Corners, Old Gurn Springs, Cemetery
Thomas - The cemetery listed on Find A Grave as Perry Cemetery, Gurn Spring, Saratoga County, isn't really Perry Cemetery... although that's how the sign reads... and the stones from the Perry Cemetery can be found there, in a group, in the rear of the cemetery. It appears that the Perry Cemetery was moved to the much larger Emersons Corners Cemetery, some time after 1876. The vast majority of the stones at that Gurn Spring location were listed by Durkee as Emersons Corners Cemetery. Cornelius Durkee's location for Emersons Corners Cemetery is "located adjoining and on the east side of the M.E. church at Emersons Corners." The church building is still there. Eventually additional space was needed and land across the road became the new Gurn Spring Cemetery, aka Ellsworth Cemetery, and Emersons Corners Cemetery became the old cemetery at Gurn Spring or Old Gurn Spring Cemetery, and relatively recently a sign was added by the Town of Wilton declaring the cemetery Perry Cemetery. My point to all this... if you were the person who first added a memorial to Perry Cemetery (and you did add memorials back in 2006) would you please add to the title page "also known as" Emersons Corners Cemetery and Old Gurn Spring Cemetery.
Thanks so much, Alice

I let my cousin know you were unable to locate her other set of grandparents. As it turns out, she was in New York this past summer and photographed their stones. She sent them to me and I have added them. Thanks again!

Thomas -

I can't begin to thank you enough for the photos of my grandparents' headstone. After seeing the number of photo requests for St Agnes, I held little hope of ever getting them. When I received the email notification today of Photo Success, I was overjoyed! I am a photo volunteer here in Nebraska. My greatest wish is to make someone's day as much as you did mine! Thank you, also, for trying to locate James & Eleanor Mahoney. I do so appreciate your time and your work.

Thanks very much for letting me know about Lillian not having a stone, Thomas! The family genealogy has her there, but I guess she never got a headstone. I removed the request and am just doublechecking with the cemetery that she really is there and will just put a note about this in her memorial. Thanks for your help!

Dear Thomas,

Thank you for your recent efforts to take photos of THREE of the Lapoints in St. Agnes cemetery. I frankly think that after a certain amount of photos have been taken by a "photo volunteer" you should be called a "photo angel" instead. I think of you that way. Thank you so much!

RE: Deacon Joseph Wells
OK. Who is Clinton Smith and how do I get in touch with him?

You have been so helpful to so many people that live far away, providing photos of the graves to those who live far away. Thank you in your endeavors.

There are 2 J Wells with similar dates buried in Old Turnpike Graveyard. Both of them have Thankful Shailer as wife. Deacon JW has a link to her but Capt JW only lists her.

I don't think she was married to both of them.
