People have been submitted by spreadsheets over the years. Attempts have been made to eliminate living people and duplicates. If you believe a living person is included, you should submit proof to me via findagrave correction. Just because there is no date on a headstone does not mean someone is alive.

Google and other searches do not prove someone is alive, I can google many people in my tree that google would show to be well over 100 years old that I know in fact are dead.

Yes, I know there is an edit button no kidding. I will get to it as I can. Fortunately, I do not live on this site.

While I have thousands of memorials at Mt. Hope Cemetery in Rochester. They are all added based on the actual records in the office. In many cases these records only listed people as Mr. Ms, Miss. exc... I choose to leave these records as they are unless someone has added a headstone and the dates match the cemetery index I have in my posession.

Unfortunately I used to change them as unknown but I have learned over time people assume they are there family when in fact they are not and the dates do not match at all per the records of the cemetery.

Because of this reason it takes me some time to vent the record changes at this particular cemetery because I look each and every record up as time allows to ensure the accuracy.

Asa Gardner
Daryl, The Asa Gardner in your records is likely the one in Mount Hope Records listed as Age 29, died of consumption, interred June 22, 1851. I am looking for a different Asa Gardner, who may or may not be his father and listing this Asa's birthdate as abt 1822 might help other researchers. Thanks so much for all the work you have done, I hope you know how very much it is appreciated. Sincerely, Karen Rich

Maria Durfee (1801-1882) Palmyra, NY.
Hello Daryl,
First, I want to thank you for your extensive work ... and in particular, for creating the Find-a-Grave memorials for several of my ancestors / relations buried at the Palmyra, NY. Cemetery (which I have recently visited for the first time ... spending all too brief a time). I have subsequently been doing some edits and have uploaded a few photos (and left "flowers") to certain or the memorials.

One edit that I would see being important to request you amend, is the father of my 4xGt Grandmother (Maria Durfee) ... not Gideon Durfee, but instead Pardon Durfee (1770-1828 ... memorial #86681476). And Maria's mother was Ruth Reeves (Memorial #86681477)... both of whom are buried in a nearby plot.

Kind regards,
Clive Orford

Theodore Backus-memorial # 33823947
Hello Daryl,

I have been researching my Backus line in Conn., and have found that Theodore Backus is the son of Azel Backus, and father of Albert Backus according to the book The Pratt family: or, The descendants of Lieut. William Pratt, one of the first settlers of Hartford and Say-Brook, with genealogical notes of John Pratt, of Hartford; Peter Pratt, of Lyme; John Pratt (Taylor) of Say-Brook Conn. Azel had five children.

Ancram Union Cemetery??
Good Morning from New Mexico,
Just a quick question - is Ancram Union Cemetery the same as Ancram Freeground Cemetery?
A burial card I found for Joseph Elliott Memorial# 46997257 states he is buried in Union but not sure if they were once the same cemetery.

Thanks in advance,
Christine (Rutherford) Holley

Memorial #40375358 Jotham Beach
I do not see a "Suggest a Correction" button, so I will leave my note here.

This Jotham Beach is not the husband of Mary Harmon Beach. Mary Harmon was married to a different Jotham Beach (1803-1879), son of Archilus Beach. They were also residents of New Ashford. Mary and Jotham were married there around 1835.

Marcus Moseman
Hi Daryl, I was looking at the Marcus Moseman # 31357975 and the memorial says that he was born 1748 and died 1831, but when you look at the head- stone it looks like it says he was born in Sep 1811 and died in Mar 1834. It is a hard headstone to read, maybe you can read the original better. Connie

Ida A Pletsch
Could you tell me if she was buried by anyone or was she alone? I had an Ida A Pletsch but was married to a Berry and they divorced and trying to see if she took her maiden name back.

Thank you,

I recently created a memorial for Abram Vander Lyke (161954839) and Cheryl Ayres created one for his wife, Lena (155394675). I was going to delete the one I created for Abram - after researching him, going to add his children, and then stumbling upon your memorial (or, as you have him, Abraham) - but decided to leave it and reference your memorial on mine. This way, people may be able to find it more easily since they are more likely to look for him under Vander Lyke (name on headstone) as opposed to Van der Lijcke. Just wanted to let you know.
