Stephen Knowlton
Hi...

I have picked up your request for Stephen Knowlton and wanted to keep you updated to were I am at....

I have that he was born on Aug. 26, 1730 and his death is Jan. 29, 1814....

I walked through the cemetery twice and haven't found anything yet.... The stones are very hard to read and some are blank...

I did go to the town hall looking for a map of the cemetery but no luck....

I also checked the burial log and the town of East Hampton doesn't have a record of his death or his burial in the Tartia Cemetery....

I do have a call into the sexton of the cemetery to see if he may have some records to prove he is there and maybe we're his final resting spot is....

If you have any other clues, let me know....

Thanks

RE: Nicholas Veeder's Wife Rachel
Hi, I don't have any record of her. Also, if you look at his stone, the last name was Vedeer. Lots of different versions of the same name in the cemetery. The Old Yard is in pretty bad shape, lots of stones are missing. I believe that if she did have a stone, I would have taken a picture of it when I did Nicholas. Sorry that I do not have a better answer for you.

I think I am going to have to call them. This makes me mad.

Sorry for the late reply, I was never notified you left a message. I have not heard a thing. I really don't understand them.
