I am retired and worked all my life in California in the Construction industry. |
I started reserarching my family history around 1978. My mother got me started showing me a yellow tablet page that (I believe my great aunt Lizzy sent to her on the Blackwells) showed how the Blackwells came to America. I was hooked immediatly and had to learn more of who I was.
I am still learning..
After my mother died we moved back home to Missouri. I bought a small place with a few acres and built me a shop for my wood working..
We have taken a trip to Kentucky to visit kin I had never met and visited ancestors grave sites..
Life is still very interesting..

Glad to help, his father and possibly his mother are listed on the other side of the monument. The light was bad and the photo I took of that side wasn't readable.If you wish to create memorials for them and put in a request I will be happy to go back and try again.

|Thelma (Payne) Coberly||Cemetery book, Hickory Conty|
I notice a note from Debbie written Nov 5, 2013 that she had purchased a cemetery book for Hickory Countym Missouri at the local newspaper office. I would love to get one also. My husband's family originated on Missouri and many in Hickory county. It wold be so much easier to verify their burials if I had such a book! I try very hard to verify each and every tid bit that I record, and sometime it is very difficult and time consuming!! This would be such a help. I hope "Debbie" will see my appeal and let us know exactly where in Hickory County, Mo she got the book. Thanks for your help. Find a Grave is one of the neatest web sites on the computer and I use it nearly daily! Thanks for your great help. I too am a contributor and I love this special job I do, both in and out of the cemetery. I have met dozens and dozens of relative I wold not have otherwise! Continued good luck! You are appreciated!!!
Thelma Contributor 47839191 Does any one know of other counties that have printed books of their cemetery guests?

|CelticHeartBeat||Esther Blythe Blackwell & her husband Joseph Blackwell|
Hi, Joe. I saw today where you had requested photos of the markers for Esther and Joseph Blackwell in the Hermitage Cemetery. About 4 years ago, we visited the Hickory County cemeteries, and purchased the Hickory County Burial book at the local newspaper office. We then walked the entire Hermitage Cemetery looking for Esther & Joseph (my 4th ggparents) and other family members buried there. We were unable to locate Esther & Joseph's markers, so on our trip home, we looked in the book of burials only to find that they do not have markers. Just thought you'd like to know; and I have added a note to Grandma Esther's memorial page. I do not have management of Joseph's page, but I mentioned this finding on his memorial page as well. Good luck with your future searches! Debbie

It's a pleasure for me to be able to get out to the cemeteries and walk through them. Taking tombstone photos is a bonus, given my love for photography. If you need any thing else out this way, let me know and I'll see what I can do.

It was no trouble at all, and I'm glad I could assist you. If you need any thing else over here in Saline County, let me know and I'll see what I can do. Good luck to you in your family research.

This is the way it is posted,but if you click on the pic. of the marker you can see what I found on Ancestor.com also I'm not sure if she has passed yet as I can't find any death notice for her and I beleive she may still be in Jackson Co.,Mo.

Joe, I didn't forget about you, just have been busy photographing stones for others and trying correct info on pages for grandparents and great grandparents (Closes and Parkers) I will try to find some photos for you tomorrow. Sharlotte email@example.com
|Joe and Sharlotte Owens||RE: Close family|
What a wonderful find for you! How long have you been researching? Do you have any photos or tin types of the Close family members? Where did you find the most information for the Close family in Ky? Any help or advice you can give me would help and be appreciated. I have an old photo that may be my great grandfather Asa Gabriel Close but no writing on the back just bits of info from one of my older (now deceased) cousins.
Asa Gabriel & Nancy Jane Parker-Green Co. Ky to Aubrey, Texas
Jesse and Arena Noe Close
Gabriel and Monarch Perkins Close
John Gabriel and Francis Swift Davis Close
or any of their children
Thank you for your help. So nice to find you.
Smiling in Texas, Scharlotte firstname.lastname@example.org
