My husband and I live in Missouri. We have 3 children, 5 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren. I'd better revise this. I also have 4 stepgrandchildren & 7 stepgreatgrandchildren. I think it is right.|
I have been doing genealogy for about 9 or 10 years and really enjoy it.
James W. Fly, Jack A. Fly along with a lot of others have helped me with the Fly history.
Thanks to James, Jack, and Patty Russell for some of the Fly & Fly related photos.
I will gladly transfer any memorial that is not for my relatives/ancestors. And I may make some exceptions. I'll also gladly add links & additional information. I'll try to do corrections or add info on the same day I receive the request. Please use the edit link and then the "suggest a correction" link, as it is easier and faster.
If you find any errors that I have made, please let me know so I can fix them!
You are welcome to use any photos I have posted for your use. I believe they should be shared & that is one reason for posting them.

Per your request I have transferred Millie Heggie to you. I am not related. My sister married into the Christensen family, so I was just making some connections for my nephews. Thanks for all your work on Find A Grave! Joanne

Yes, please go ahead and use the photo.

We are trying to prove her parents for a DAR application. DAR will not accept her death certificate as proof. The problem is that the death certificate lists her as Elizabeth when she went by the name Roseann in the census records. Would you know of any Bible records, land records, wills, or court records that might prove her parents?

I'm doing some research on Joseph Wickam and recently found your info on the Find-A-Grave website where you maintain his virtual memorial. I was wondering if you might be able to help me with some info? First of all I found a "visiting card" of Joseph's in my Great-Grandmother's things. I've attached pictures of the outside and inside signature of the card. My great Gransmother, Caledonia Baxter, lived on a farm outside of Pomona Kansas just down the road from Morgan and Ellen Wickam's farm. Joseph's brother Jonathan was also married to Caledonia's sister-in-law, Amy Clark Wickam. What I'm trying to find out is who was living at the Wickam farm in late 1899, early 1900. Morgan died in 1896 but he is still listed as owned up until 1903. Do you know if either Joseph or Jonathan were running the farm during that time? Do you have any pictures of Morgan, Joseph or Johnathan Wickam. I SO appreciate any help you can give me. I'm actually researching to write a book about my family and if Joseph Wickam is your relative I'd be happy to send the visiting card to you once my research is complete.
Thanks for your time :)

This is proof positive I shouldn't do this when I'm sick! I meant to ask if you were named after anyone. The name Nancy was passed down over and over n my family and my middle name is after my Mother. So is my daughter. This is one of the things so perplexing when you do research --and I added to it!
I won't say anything else as I'm drugged on cough medicine and will read your biography again when I'm better and alert. N

Hello, thank you so much. I had to rest a bit as I have an upper respiratory infection, bit did check my email tonight. I knew about the Fly's. that was next on my agenda. Are you related to the Byrds, Anderson's, etc ?
Thanks so much. I'm really enjoying doing this with my Mother. Her memory as well as her 97 year old cousin's is truly amazing. I also have some documents/papers/info coming to me from some of the family since they know I'm doing our genealogy. Some of the old timers. I'm really excited to go over to get it soon as I get well. YOUR work is truly amazing. I'm reluctant to work on it while I'm sick and on med as you've really got to be alert to "get it right"!
All the Best in 2014 and perhaps we will communicate again.
Thanks again, Nancy

Thank you so very kindly on behalf of my Mother and of course from me for the transfer of her great and my great great grandparents. These finds are priceless and your work bestows many blessings. At 92, Mother helps e as well as her 97 year old cousin, but they won't again be able to travel back to Tn to visit. They do have wonderful memories.
